It is actually pregnancy that makes them saggy, not breastfeeding. Contact La Leche League for more information! They can reassure you that it is, in fact, a myth that breastfeeding causes sag.
And good for you considering breastfeeding! I gave up with my first two but have held strong with my third little girl. We're going on 9 months next week! It is such an amazing experience. There are times where I am annoyed and frustrated and just want my boobs back but then she looks into my eyes and grins and I know it is so much better for her.
I found this lady on Etsy who makes jewelry with your own breastmilk, too. I thought that was pretty cool. I'm having a giveaway for her on my blog but alas I cannot post the link here.
I bf 3 of my current 4 kids for approx 3-5 mos each. Over time due to my pregnancies I've gone from a C to a D. Mine have never been full and perky to start with and what I notice is that they did lose SOME fullness, but nothing that *I* would complain about. But then again I look at it this way...my DH is a boob man through and through and he has never once complained about them, matter of fact he's more infatuated with them than any other part of my body. So, if HE has no complaints, then I see no reason why *I* should :)
But Sometihng I ALWAYS do is wear a bra. Atleast a sports bra...to sleep, during the day...whenever. I'm RARELY without a bra. Once every week or two I may sleep without one just to give them a break but it's not often. Especially while breastfeeding I make sure I have a good supportive bra on. Just not too tight becuase that can hinder milk supply.
Another way I look at the changes your body makes during pregnancy and breastfeeding is this: I may have extra weight and stretch marks, I might get spider veins etc but it was all for a very good cause. I don't consider them as side effects or ill effects rather my trophies from the wonderful journies I've had giving life to my beautiful children. Yeah I know that sound cheesy but I would take saggy boobs and stretch marks any day of the week if it means I have been blessed with healthy beautiful children.
It is not breastfeeding that makes boobs saggy it is lack of support. I breastfed and pumped for DD for 18 months and my boobs look just like they used to only bigger ( I was a C cup now a DD cup). I plan on breastfeeding this one as well for as long as baby wants to. Just make sure you are wearing a comfortable yet supportive bra now and during breastfeeding.
I breastfeed both my two until 18 months. Mine just look smaller (much smaller) I was a DD now I am a small C. They lose a lot of the muscle tone and sag some, but overall I'm not too upset about. I plan to nurse this one as well, so we'll see what happens after this one.
i breastfed my son for a month and a half and sadly had to stop because my supply dried up for unknown reasons...i tried so hard to build it back up but it just got so frusterating and just didnt help so we switched to formula and hopefully ill have better luck next time! But anyway, sorry to say my breasts are definitely saggier and im super bummed about it..im hoping doing some chest exercises will lift them back up. but breastfeeding was amazing and worth the saggy boobs LOL...goodluck!
Hi,
I breastfed and pumped with both my kids until they were almost a year old.I'm a DD and to me they seem to sag just slightly but my husband says it's all in my head. He thinks they look the same.
