help gain weight

Hello I'm looking on advise to help gain weight. I have been struggling to put weight on since before I found out I was pregnant. But since finding out I have tried to put weight on but no help. I'm seeing a dietician in the next few weeks. No health problems for weight. Just cannot put it on. Looking to gain 20kg up from now at 8 weeks  til I feel a comfortable and healthy weight thank you

I actually lost weight at the beginning of two of my pregnancies.  Don't worry you will most likely catch up in your third trimester.  Just eat healthy food and your body and baby will be fine.  I am 34 weeks with baby 3 and have only gained 11 pounds.  Good luck and don't stress.

I'm the same way, it's hard for me to gain. I increase my liquid calories and drink protein shakes like boost, ensure, muscle milk. I didn't gain any weight until after 20 weeks.I've always been under weight even though I eat 3 healthy meals a day when I'm not pregnant.

I had trouble gaining at the beginning too, after splitting up my meals into 5 a day not just 3 I started gaining more. As long as your healthy though, the baby should be fine.  Baby will take what it needs from you.

*you* don't need to gain weight.  Your baby does.  As long as your baby is growing normally that's all that matters. If you are actually underweight, then things like nuts, avocado and pasta are good ways to gain weight.  Peanut butter sandwiches are a good snack.

It probably has to do with you happening to like foods that are less likely to put calories on you, or you burning off more calories than you eat, or both.  Try increasing your carbs.
