18 weeks, complications, scared.

So I went to a specialist yesterday for my baby, cause baby's dad has a heart problem...... after almost an hour in ultrasound, the doctor came in... I have to go back in three weeks, my cervix is short(was 2.87 now is 2.3) is it bad this is happening this early?? Plus my placenta's riding the top of my cervix, and they couldn't see baby's heart well enough...... should I worry? Will I be put on bed rest? Will I be able to make it to full term? Please help!

Late reply!! But thank you I hope baby moves and works better next time. I am pretty freaked out... and baby's dad has two leaky valves, one was replaced shortly after birth, and he was born with a hole in his heart, which was also repaired best they could, and he's gotta beat skip er whatever its called.

Well if the placenta is moving on top of ur cervix you'll have to have a c section instead of delivering vaginally. And they might just be trying to get a better view of the baby's heart I was going to be scheduled for another visit for an us but my daughter moved in the perfect position so the tech can see the heart perfectly, having a placenta in the front of the uterus makes it hard to see things clearly in an us that's what my tech told me
