Epidural

I am 35 weeks pregnant and Ive been stressing about an epidural.  Ive never had any major procedures ever done before I hate needles and I just dont know what to do. How bad does an epidural hurt? Is it somethin I should worry about? I need help!

I'm not sure about the other ladies but when I got mine the numbed the area before it went in. Didnt even feel it. When the anesthesiologist was leaving I even asked that's it? I felt no contractions but did feel pressure as baby was descending. And only for me to end up with an emergency c section.

I couldn't feel mine either, the pain of labor was so much more intense and I was so focused on that that the last thing I thought about was the needle and I was focused on trying to stop the pain too

It only felt like a little pinch and poke when i got mine. I didn't ever look at the needle bc I think the fear of it can make you think it hurts more than it does. Keep in mind too if you're having a vaginal delivery you don't have to get an epidural!  You can go all natural or they have pain meds that can be inserted into your IV.

I couldn't feel the epidural either. Then all of a sudden my nurse was like how's that contraction and I asked her what contraction. It was wonderful.

I had one for an emergency d&c cause i was hemorrhaging with my first miscarriage. And I flinched when they put the needle in and they had to wiggle it to get it between my vertebrae. For me it was excruciating. But it was partly my own fault for flinching. And I didn't have it during labor so its not like the contraction pain overpowered the needle pain.
