Waitng for what?
I dont understand why my first appointment is Aug 20th.. I found out about my pregnancy Tuesday. I called and scheduled an appointment and it Aug 20th! That's just too far :( My last period was in the first week of june..so i should be far enough to have an earlier appointment! So frusterating :(
I took a hpt and it clearly was positive. My doctor also scheduled mine so far off so the same night i went to an er and complained of horrible stomach pains and discomfort. I receieved an ultrasound and perscriptions the same night.
With my first pregnancy I didn't see a doctor until I was 22 weeks. But I still had my period.
They get you medical history ask your last menstral period (lmp). Figure out baby's due date. Issue you blood work and urine tests to make sure you don't have any infections or sti's/std's and to figure out your hcg levels (pregnancy hormones). They may try to hear baby's heart beat but could be a bit early yet. My doctor didn't try until I was 15 weeks. They will aslo ask you about your family's medical history as well.
and they will try to hear the babys heart beat and depending on your doctor you will only get that many ultrasound pictures
Take blood, check you're urine, test for STDs get you're weight and they may do an exam.. nothing serious lol. And you usually only get two or one ultrasound unless you have a high risk pregnancy.
Congrats to you ladies :) Erm strange question...but what do they do at the first appointment? I'm so nervous >.<
yeah I didn't even see a doctor until I was 14 weeks cause I kept telling them I was pregnant but the bloodwork came back saying I wasn't pregnant so I waited almost two months and retook a test and still said I was pregnant so I made another appointment and they were like yep you are 12 to 14 weeks pregnant :) im now 21w1d
If you go to a pregnancy clinic and tell them you 'think' you might be pregnant, they will test you and a lot of the time they will do an ultrasound too.
No its fine. You're not that far along. They didn't do anything for me except confirm pregnancy until I was12-13 weeks and I have a very high risk pregnancy

I am, I found out when i was at the ER the Dr. confirmed it, just said he doesnt know how far I am. They did a blood test because I was having abdominal pains, it was just a gallstones but found out I'm pregnant as well. :)
Go to a clinic and ask if u can take a test and ur kinda worried/wondering if u are and that ur irregular
june 3rd would make you 8 weeks today and due date of march 9th 2014

LMP? If that's about my last period.. I would say..from the 3rd-5th of June. I have irregular periods so Its hard to remember. But, I didnt get mine this month, so I should be further then like 3 months.
Well I estimated from my last period..I should be 6-8 weeks. I'm not sure of which one. Thats's why I need my appointment, I also really want to make sure my baby is ok. :(
