Ashelen - Daniel's almost 4 (will be in October). Like your KayKay, he was an easy baby, very chill and laid back. Gil is even more so - except with feeding (ie. he won't take a bottle, only the boob or formula in a sippy cup, and now he's gotten off to a rockier start with his cereal, too - but it's only the first day...)
tiredbuthappy - Thanks for the suggestions and tips! I'm going to try watering it down even more tomorrow and see if that makes any difference. I'm using Nestle cereal and followed the instructions for the "first feeding", and it was thicker than I remembered it being when I mixed it up for Daniel at first....so that could be part of the problem. Back to the drawing board tomorrow ;-)
Sunkissed - THANK YOU! I realize that the picture doesn't give you a really good sense of what he looks like....but it's a start, right?
AWWW! look at Gil!! finally a picture yay! he is soooo precious and i am so proud of you for posting one! :) i have been so curious lol! he is way cute love that little yucky face he's making...too funny!
i obviously have no advice for you about the solid food deal because i havent been there yet...im sure ill be posting when i cross that bridge haha but i just had to comment on how adorable little Gil is....cute!
Try different consistencies. My first had to have super runny cereal, as most babies do at first. My second kept refusing it until I figured out she likes it really thick. Also, with my second, I tried mixing fruits into it because I really needed her to eat cereal in hopes of helping with reflux. It was still out of control at 6 months when we started solids. She kept refusing that so I figured she wasn't ready for solids. On a whim, I tried greens instead, and she gobbled it up. She still won't touch anything sweet, but loves everything else. I never would've thought to give super thick cereal mixed with greens before runny cereal with fruit. (interestingly, she was willing to eat avocado before cereals. That should've been my first clue that she has different preferences).
Well you have a beautiful arm, and an even more beautiful little baby who has the most ADORABLE "yuck" face, LOL. Glad you took that big first step...definitely don't feel pressure to post pics if it makes you nervous, but I know I speak for many here when I say we would love to see your little ones! And you, of course, but I figure that might take awhile if you're like I was at first LOL.
Yeah I know what you mean...Kahlan was a really really easy baby, but Grey's even easier...and they have similarities for sure, but there are more different in personality than they are similar. they're just similar physically! they're totally male and female versions of each other..freaky. How old is Daniel now?
Thanks :-) And this is also the first picture I've ever posted on here.....a big step for me :-)
Daniel was so different....he gobbled his cereal up from the very first try - and he was a little over 4 months....so younger than Gil. I'm finding that I'm constantly amazed how different they are - not that it should be so surprising, I mean they're their own little people!!
Oh Lordy that face is cracking me up...he's so freaking cute though LOL
he'll definitely get it. I think the empty tummy really is the key, I think that's how we got it to work with KayKay...good luck and congrats on his first journey into the world of food...how fast they grow!
