I declined any shot while pregnant besides the 17p shot. But I have my reasons why!
What's the 17p shot? I've also denied all tests & everything besides Glucose testing because diabetes runs in the family on both sides (my mom&dads)
The flu shot is very important when your pregnant. Not just for baby but for you as well. Pregnant women fall into the high risk category and although some people have mild cases of the flu there are also a good number of people who die every year from it and there is no way to know which group you'll be in. Also the flu shot cannot and will not make you sick. If you fall ill after getting the shot it's because you were already exposed to something beforehand and your immune system is working overtime.
I got it because pregnant women are more prone to getting sick and I don't want to put my baby in harm. normally when I get it I would get sick, but when I got it while I am pregnant I had no side effects at all. I have always felt that getting sick while pregnant is not a good thing, so I would atleast try preventing getting the flu! good luck.
I am for the flu shot & t-dap, it gives your baby those antibodies
I strongly agree with knufrio.
I didn't get the flu shot. And when you get the flu shot you CAN get sick from it since they are injecting the virus into your system. I got the tdap shot and did the gestantional diabetes teat and that's it. I declined everything else.
Im not getting any shots while pregnant and my child won't be getting any when shes born just the vitamin K
The flu shot is a dead virus. Yes some ppl get a lil sick but its your body getting amune to it. I would rather get a lil sick from the shot then get the flu itself.
The virus in the flu vaccine is dead (no virus is technically alive, but that's another topic entirely). It cannot replicate and cause you to have the flu. It's biologically impossible. When it contains are parts of the virus that allow your immune system to build up antibodies that way when you are exposed to the flu the antibodies destroy that one particular part of the virus, thus killing it entirely.
Ive had a premie and that shot helps you carry the baby longer.
The flu shot is super important. If you get it the baby gets it. It's really unlikely for a infant to survive the flu. And pregnant women already have a lot on there lungs. Pregnant women have actually died during birth due to the flu being too hard on there lungs. I've never got a flu shot in my life and I'm 39 weeks and just got my first one to protect me and the baby. I haven't got sick at all.
I got a TDAP shot. Don't think I'll be getting the flu shot.
Why would you decline the flu shot? It's very important and it outweighs the pros a lot more than the cons. People declining vaccines and declining their babies getting vaccinations is very dangerous. I don't understand why this "trend" is going on now but it must stop or we will all suffer greatly.
I got the flu shot & didn't get sick from it ..I think it's important during pregnancy , not only for me but for my baby also.
I said no and i dont plan to get the shot. I never have and i doubt I'll ever get the shot.
I didn't get the flu shot or tdap with my first and we were both perfectly fine:) I declined with this baby as well.
My baby will have all her vaccines. I on the other hand did not get the flu shot because the one time I got the flu shot I wound up in the hospital from it. I jve a huge family they all got the flu and I was the one taking care of all the sick kids WITHOUT the flu shot and I didn't get it. Therefore I will not get it. My Dr also said she understands since there are so many types of flu's out there now that's it's not 100% that even with the flu shot you won't get it. My husband for the flu shot and got sick. I didn't get sick at all and I don't have the flue shot.
I Got The Glu Shot About 2 Weeks Ago And I Feel Prefectly Fine , Betta Safe Than Sorry !
Sugarbaby0000, I completely agree with you. If people are denying vaccines based off of the idea that it can cause autism (which is what I've heard some moms say) they need to be aware that is not true. The celebrity mom who thought she was bring that thought to light actually came out and revoked her "evidence" on that. It's more important to do your research for each and every vaccine you get for yourself and for baby instead of instantly denying all of them. It can be extemely dangerous, not only to your child but those who has weaker immune systems too!
I said NO never had and never will
I didn't get the flu shot my doctor said no to it so I'm a stick to it
The flu shot you get during pregnancy I'd and inactive virus you can not get sick from it. Its the whole reason they give this particular one to pregnant women because if a pregnant women were to get sick with the flu it instantly puts you and baby at risk and can cause serious problems. Getting the flu shot and the tdap and at the benefit for you but ALSO your baby so they get the antibodies before birth..
I got the flu shot and my whole body is sore, I deffinatly got a lil sick but with a baby that is now 6 days old I feel terrible :/
