labor and delivery are full and said they would call me when they have a room open.. my question is does anyone know if this is normal? how long does it ussually take? update since my doctor checked me yesterday, i was dilated to a 1, i have been leaking tons of mucus discharge and as of 20 minutes ago it had some blood in it. am i getting closer to maybe starting labor on my own. i am 41 weeks. the mucus and clear discharge is non stop.

Ohh my geez!! Your not getting induced after all?? Grrr I'm so mad at your doc for, doesn't the doc know your like beyond your due date, why wouldn't the hospital just admit u.? Ughh you poor thing, I'm sorry love. How are you feeling thou, tired, happy, irrated?? Keep us updated again, lol & I hope your lil man comes with in hours :)

Did they do a membrane sweep?  I wish you all the best. My first was 10 days late and my first sign of labour with her was bloody show and mucous.  I hope babe will be here soon.

My induction is pretty much no longer existent. My doctor is only going to induce me of they can get me in today. I just left l&d because I had extreme amounts of mucus and starting spotting. She confirmed that the baby's head is almost engaged and that I am experiencing my bloody show. She thinks I will deliver by the end of Thanksgiving. I cannot believe my induction fell through. There was more than 12 patients there today and the hospital isn't very full. Atleast we attempted to have him today. The nurse said that I will be in very soon. Probably within 12-24 hours. Thanks again for all of your comments and support ladies.

I just got off the phone with labor and delivery and they are cleaning out one of the recovery patients rooms and gonna call me very soon! I'm next.

Aww. I'm sorry you're having to wait so long. I definitely know how it feels. My first pregnancy I had my son 10 days late!  I'm hoping this time that doesn't happen again.. The waiting is truly awful. It sounds like your body is getting ready though! I hope you get to meet your little one today! Good luck! :)

I was scheduled to be induced today, but they have 4 rooms and they are all full. I know they cannot turn me away if I am in labor, so I will be walking until things start to get more painful. The mucus has lasted an entire day and a morning. I spotted blood twice this morning and now I am walking. I will keep everyone updated! I am still waiting for labor and delivery to call, but I think I will be going in tonight anyways :)

oh honey it wont matter if they are full if your in labor they have to take you I had my son one hour after i saw blood but my labor was only two hours

Aww. thank you all for being so sweet. It stinks that l&d are full. either way I'm getting closer. My mom is on her way to my house. she says that she is going to me walk all day lol

I am going to get up and walk. She says when there is blood in the mucus it means i am dilating more. i am hoping this is true

Walk, walk, walk. Maybe try some squats and swaying from what I've been hearing from other posters. Good luck and keep us updated.

Listen to your mom, it defiantly sounds like you are finally going to start labor on your own, while you are waiting to get into the hospital go walking do lots of everything. I hope you have good luck and that baby comes today!!! :)
