For moms with preemies!

I just had my son at 33 weeks 6 days. If anyone on here has had preemies before my question is how long after you brought baby home did you stay in the house? I didn't get a definite answer from my doctor or the hospital. He is now almost 3 weeks and doing well just above 6 pounds. I've heard other moms say right away is okay another said one year!!! I have errands and appointments plus my 5 year old has to be taken and picked up from school during the week. I know sick people and other kids are no no's for preemie to be around and hand sanitizing and washing is a must for anyone handling him. I just need advice. I've never had a preemie baby before. Just overly cautious.

That's so scary!!!!!! I didn't even know what RSV was until I read forums about preemies going out. Now I'm freaking out!!! My son was born early and he always breathes fast then slow. He's working on regulating his breathing so I can't tell if that's his normal breathing or not. A lot of the symptoms are stuff that he does normally so it's extra scary. In Hawaii the rsv season is November to April and he was born November 14. Now I don't want to take him anywhere.

If your going to apts and stuff just tell me u have a premature infant and would like to be seated away from so many people. Try and only take him out when it's really necessary make sure he's dressed weather appropriate and try not to stay out to long. As another you can never be to over protected their little systems work hard ifbtheyvgetsick to prevent and fight off infection.

I would be really careful my daughter was a preemie and as soon as we got home she ended up back in the hospital with rsv because this is the time of year its out. And because she was so small she almost died and ended up in a childrens hospital for 5 weeks. It was horrible. So if you do go out I'd make sure to keep them covered and if people are going to see them Make them wash and don't let sick people over
