I had it with my 3rd pregnancy, I had to be induced and have IV antibiotics before the baby was born. If you have the baby before you get the antibiotics the baby will have to have the IV when born and stay in hospital for a couple of extra days.
My son was absolutely fine. Good luck
Were you induced early because of it im so worried when i was in labor with my daughter it was very fast onky 3 hours i hope i get the antibiotics in time

No I was 13 days late by then, if I had delivered without it being planned I wouldn't have made it as my last 3 labour times were 25 mins, 18mins, 18mins. You should try not to worry to much as you know you have strep B so you will be treated or your baby will be which is great. I was lead to believe the problems come when the baby has been infected and not treated.

I tested positive for group b strep with my 1st pregnancy and just found out that I'm also positive with this pregnancy as well! Don't stress it's nothing bad. It's a virus that some of us women have and the baby can get it during labor if you don't get the antibiotics that's when it can be dangerous. They will give you antibiotics when you go into labor. Let me just warn you now when the antibiotics are given to you through iv it burns like hell! There's no other way to describe it! It just burns! And my friends have told me the same thing so I know it's not just me.
