Gas and the second trimester?

So I read that gas is a common problem in the second trimester. I wasn't expecting all in a sudden overnight to have 24 hour a day gas. The question is... how do I manage it of it and does it go away?

I agree Mumita, there should be no inhibitions between a couple.
That was like a post a while back about having your hubby in the room for a vaginal ultrasound, why be embarrassed, it's your husband.

Joe and I are not the kind of people that are embarrassed of anything, we use the bathroom with the door open and we pass gas in front of each other. It used to gross Joe out when I would fart in front of him but he learned very quickly to deal with it, I am not going to run into the other room to let it go lol and neither is he.

Hehehe!  We are totally the kind of couple who passes gas in front of each other.  I don't care, he doesn't care, of course I hate it when it stinks but its my husband I share everything with him.  We're human, we fart, we burp and we stink or we explode!
Anyway think about it, its your husband!  There should not be any inhibitions between you.

awww! I wish my hubby was embarrassed to pass gas in front of me!!! He is NOT shy about it one bit. It doesn't matter who he is around sometimes. He hates if I have gas so I make sure I go to the bathroom or another room, but it's totally fine if he does it in front of me?? LOL That's my hubby!! Gotta love him. Gas is so weird......haha

I know we can use gas x it was on the approved drugs flyer my ob gave me at my 12 week appointment, but I dont' think it really works. So maybe this is silly, but my dh and I are not the pass gas infront of one another kind of couple. So I'm extra miserable trying to hold it in all the time. I've been getting up and going in the other room or going to the bathroom all the way upstairs when we're watching tv. It's so stupid and I don't really want to have a talk with him about my gas problems ;-) so embarassing.

I am going through this issue also, what I can't stand about it is that the gas gets stuck in painful places in my intestine I guess because the uterus is pressing on it and it hurts!!!
I just try to twist and turn as much as I can and stretch to get it all out.  I can't really avoid gassy foods, but I've been thinking about trying Beano.

Gas was a problem for me with my son and even this pregnancy now. I mean we get gas, pregnant or not, but THIS much?!? lol. I just try to avoid gassy foods as well, it doesn't always work though. I used to get really bad heartburn with my son as well, and it didn't matter what I ate! Tums seemed to help me with that.

Haha there is no managing it. It didn't go away for me until after I had my son.
I guess try not to eat gassy foods, that's the best you can do but it probably wont help much.
