Giving birth

My first child and I'm terrified of birth. I know this is normal. But I think the thought of the epidural shot is what scares me. I have a great fear for most needles. What is your thoughts on a vaginal birth vs. a planned csection ?

I might be odd but I look forward to experiencing labor. My first pregnancy almost eight years ago was sn emergency c section, amd i feel like I missed out on labor because i did not have contactions. I know it will be painful but there are some things that you dont experience otherwise. :) Good luck with your choice. I am sure what ever you choose will be best for you. Also look into getting a doula i hear they are great.

I think you get the epidural either way hon lol think of it this way, would you rather feel the needle, or hours of contraction then pushing a baby out? I'm afraid of having that thing in my back too, but I'd rather get it over with and see my baby asap. Also I'd be back on my feet sooner than with a c section and it would be easier to take care of my baby if I'm not hopped up on pain pills from the surgery :)

Homestly , I want you to know a fear of needles plays a big part in the epidural but you won't be seeing the needle go in and if your partner or family is there habe them stand in front of you and hold your hand . My nurse held mine during the epidural. It worked wonders but wore off by the time it came to pushing for me . I loved natural bbecause I got to be in control so happy it wore off in a way . Either way only you will know what the best option is when it comes down to you getting ready to deliver there's other pain management options as well not just the epidural .

I'm a ftm and planning on going all natural. Im not worried about the pain because I have an amazing support system and once I see my little man I won't be thinking about how much it hurt. The only way I would ever have a c-section is if his life was in danger and it was absolutely essential.

Honestly I'm a FTM as we'll and I think I would rather get the epidural then csection . But whatever you do it's your choice . Congrats :)!  I'm really not to worried about birth considering I've heard so many story's and have seen my nephew be born ..
