Going off the pill...

Just wondering what symptoms you had when going off the pill and how long it took for your cycles to resume and for you to get pregnant.  I am done my pills in 2 days!!   We will be ttc asap... Although I'm not sure what is going to happen to my body, I am going to chart my cycles to try and figure out what's going on.

im in the same boat. I came off the pill just over a month ago and for the 1st time in my life i came on exactly 4 weeks to the day. I have pcos so periods without the pill were never regular. Have any of you had any symptoms of coming off the pill?? I only asking because i am mega emotional, suffering with digestion troubles. My partner says ive pumped my body with chemicals for 6 years so it will have an effect when its coming out, dont you love men aye!! hahaha. I am hoping to get pregnant soon, and i hope you ladies have too xx

I got tons and tons and tons of discharge.  Other than that nothing too abnormal.  I went off of the pill 6 months before I was ready to start trying as I heard it takes that long.  We used protections for 3 of those months so I dont know if I would have become pregnant.  On the 4th month we did not use protection one time and I got pregnant.  This time, I went off in July.  I know I ovulated the very first cycle.  (we missed our opportunity that month so I cant say my not being pregnant is caused by not being off of the pill long enough)  My periods were also irregular on the pill and the very first cycle I got off of them I was regular again.  Well, good luck to you and look up things like "cervical mucus", "ovulation symptoms", "luteal phase", and "ovulation calendar". These are all things that will help you track.  (I never knew I felt ovulation until I looked these up)  Good Luck...and enjoy!!!

dont worry about that at all. it will happen when it happens. being worried wont help things along. if it takes a year then go see the doctor. but otherwise its normal. not all women conceive quickly and that is just fine and normal.  try to have fun and enjoy this part of the adventure.
smiles, have fun!

hey roke,
sounds like a good plan to me, i have a little calendar and i write down my symptoms. i quit the pill early july of this year. i got my regularly scheduled period. but i did do a hpt because i had so many symptoms. i was crazy dizzy, cramps for half the cycle without a period, back pain, sleepiness oh! and really really emotional!. but it was just the my hormones getting regular again. the next cycle was 5 days early. this kinda throws you off when you think its 28 days and are ttc. so i followed my body and the ewcm. i experience it really early but it felt more normal and followed the 'regular' patterns. so it took two cycles to feel free of the pill. and i dont even know if i am totally free of it yet. they say it can prohibit things for up to a year sometimes. (usually they say 6 months) but some women say they got pregnant within the first 3 months. so it really depends on your birthcontrol you were on and your body.  but i think you will do just fine. you'll see all sorts of new things but i think its great that you'll be tracking it. good luck!
