Thanks you guys, I'll be sure to go to the hospital once I think I'm in labor so I'm can get the antibiotics I need so nothing goes wrong and so I can be at ease during delivery
I also have it too, they said it's perfectly normal that a lot of women get it, all they do is administer antibiotics through your iv while in labor, no muss no fuss :)
I think they try to give it to you at least 24 hours before your actual deliver and I've never heard of anyone's baby actually getting sick that had it so I wouldn't worry
Take pro biotics and when u get the antibiotics ask for a heating pad
I have it too :( i have 5 days left and I'm nervous too!
Don't be too worried the odds are kinda rare like 1 in 1200 have some issues. I think that is the odds anyway. I am hoping for the best.
You are not alone. I just found out two days ago that I am as well. This is baby number six for me and my last came pretty fast. I plan to have this baby at the birthing center I had my last at. I have to be sure to go in as soon as I am in labor. My last only took about an hour once labor started. I need to make sure they have time to set up and administer the antibiotics.
Strep b is just a digestive bacteria that is common in adults and older children. It can just cause some problems in newborns and the problems can be severe and sometimes fatal.
You should be fine as well as your baby just make sure your nurses and staff are aware you are group B strep positive. They will have to give you antibiotics before and I believe during labor and your baby may need to receive antibiotics after labor. I had it with my older daughter and all was fine:)
