I was tested at the beginning of my pregnancy for HiV which I know is routine for every mommy to be...& today my doctor sent me to take the test for a second time... I was just curious to know if this is also routine & if all mommy to be's take this test twice through out the pregnancy....btw he sent me to take this test the day after he swabbed me for STREP B...

When I had my strep b testing done 2 weeks ago they tested me for everything it is common  to get tested and I came back clean so don't freak out they have to test you just to be sure...

Yes i just got test on monday at 37 weeks they do it to make sure,And I'm happy they do cuz u never know

They test at the beginning then again when you take your glucose test at around 27-32weeks

Yes they commonly test it again later in the pregnancy to make sure.

A lot of times during pregnancy tests for STDs come back positive falsely. If something as serious as an STD shows up and the mother has no record of it in their paperwork and/or appears to have no knowledge of it, drs will usually retest and have it checked again to be sure it in fact was not a false positive the first time so as to not worry the mother. This happens a lot, and women even test positive for narcotics during pregnancy and they could have never touched a single thing. Its irrelevant to the strep B swab. Good luck nomma :)
