Hate this hospital

Having contractions so bad that I can barely walk. Went in to the hospital and all they did was monitor me and give me my iron infusion ( that I was supposed to get at 10 a.m) I am still in pain and can't walk, they sent me home.

Hopefully, it's been over 24 hours and I still have to use a walker, switched to a cane, to move around. Have an appointment on Friday, hopefully I start to dilate.

Yes, that is very true.  It is unpredictable.  Sometimes women will get a period of contractions that are regular but then they peter out.  Which is unfortunate.  It's hard on women.  It's amazing we ever have more than one child, isn't it?  Good luck to the poster.  Your time is coming, have no fear!!  And you'll have  wonderful baby to hold and love.  peace

I was having contractions every 5-6 minutes for 19 hours before I went into the hospital and was just at a 4 from being a 1 previously before that! I know a woman who has been in early labor with consistent contractions for days and the hospital still won't take her! It's all up to the doctors discretion whether they think you're progressing or if they want to break your water if you're close enough (I had two days left so they just broke mine) or if they want to send you home. Unfortunately that's one negative thing about labor, it's unpredictable and it can be long and painful for some!

They were constant. Every three minutes for over an hour. I'm not dilated though.

I had latent phase labor.  They consider that early labor and not active labor.  When you have contractions that are not consistent and come and go, it is early labor and not active labor.

She needs to time her contractions and if there becomes a consistent pattern where they are closer together.  If she feels she is having a complication of labor, then she calls her doctor directly and discusses and they leave orders at triage for her when she goes in.

good luck

No She Can Have Constant Contractions And Not Dilate! Who Told You That??? I Was In Labor With My Son For Over A Day And Didn't Dilate Nothing But To 6.. It Depends On The Baby And Your Cervix Opening Up..

Oh, I see.  Your labor hasn't progressed.   So, you are not having consistent contractions.  sorry to hear that but they will pick up probably soon and within the next week.  good luck hon.  It's hard at the end.

It IS like that at the end.  I don't think you can go to another hospital to be treated because she has an ob that works out of specific hospitals.  At the end of pregnancy, it is very uncomfortable to walk.  The baby is down in there and it is almost like sharp pains with severe pressure.  How far apart are your contractions? Are they not consistent and that is why they sent you home?

I understand that I'm not dilated. I hate meds, like my prenatal vitamins are gummies and all the medicine I get comes in liquid form because I can't swallow pills. It's the next day and I still can't walk. Stuck on my bed.
