I had my nipples pierced. Took them out as soon as I got pregnant with my first and had no problems breastfeeding either of my children. Milk only came out of the milk ducts. I think it depends how they were pierced though too.
My doctor has told me to leave them in right up til the baby is born so that they do not heal and cause me to not be able to breastfeed.
My niece had her nipples pierced for her 18th birthday, 1 bc she was never going to get pregnant (haha) & 2 if she did get pregnant she would never breastfeed bc breasts were for sex! (again haha) so abt 6 months later she got pregnant (haha) by the time she was 3 months pregnant she decided she wanted to breastfeed bc she found out it was healthier for baby (lol really?) So anyways, she took her rings out at 5 months bc her midwife said it could stimulate her nipples & start contractions. So anyways, her son is now 5 months old & has nursed from day 1. The milk only comes out the holes where the milk ducts are. They shouldn't come out the pierced holes bc it's scarred over & healed. So no worries of drowning the baby lol:) good luck
as long as they are out I think you'll be fine. your flow might be a little fast for baby to handle but just be patient and all should be fine:)
Thank you so much I will make sure to ask my doctor
Mine comes oout all 3 holes. I think you will b OK as long as baby doesn't choke!
I have mine done too and I think you can still breast feed but I think milk may come out from all the of the holes. My friend also has hers done too and she had a baby and said that the milk was leaking out from each side... I am not a doctor nor have I had a child to breast feed so I am not 100%.
Best of luck!
