Having trouble quitting smoking. Any suggestions?

Please no rude comments. But I am 6 weeks and 4 days and I'm having a horrible time quitting. I wake up in the morning with the mind set that I'm not going to smoke that day because after I have a cigarette I feel horrible and just blah. But I end up failing miserably. I went from a half a pack a day before I found out I was pregnant to about 5 or 6 a day. I've cut back but I want to quit for the health of my little one. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thats a myth that quitting cold turkey can harm the baby.

Sorry, but quitting altogether is better for the baby.  Don't know who told you it's worse, unless it was a smoker.

I had gum and seeds, or choose peanuts , every time you want to smoke, eat one of those. I quit in a month. Better than never. But good luck!

Get one of those vapors not the fake cig. But from a place called smooth vapors. It works miricles. My husvand use to dip a can a day and now hes useing a vapor with NO nicotine added what so ever. You can have what ever flavor ypu want and it will wingypu off it instead of stoppimg cold turkey

The way I see it is...if it was that easy to quit I'm sure you would have before you were even pregnant. Don't beat yourself up for it, yes its better for you and baby if you do quit but don't stress over it! The only reason I was able to quit was it made me super sick.

There is a "Positive Changes" hypnosis center here, maybe a national chain, and it has a good reputation with helping people quit smoking.  If there is not such a thing near you, some doctors are also trained in hypnosis.  It's worth looking into because it's drug-free.

I was the same way in the morning, id wake up n say im not gonna have one n I cave, but ask ur dr about the nicotine patches,  im on them n its actually helped me cut way down,  sometimes ill have one cig every 2-3days,  thats how long ive made it so far, it is hard to quit. But ask ur dr about the patch n when I want one I think about my little peanut, n my mom always tells me that quitting is for a short time n u can always start smoking afterwards again
