Heart murmurs

I've read it's somewhat common for pregnant women to experience heart murmurs as their heart adapts to pumping about 40% more blood than before. Just how normal is this? I started feeling mine yesterday at 18 weeks. Will it get worse? Anyone else experience this, and is there anything I can do to find relief?

I'm 13 weeks and feel the exact same thing, do you think it's too early for me to feel like that??? Maybe I'm just being paranoid

Yes, while I was 17-19 weeks along I started experience this with my third pregnancy,  didn't have it with my first two. My heart would "skip " a beat. I freaked out didn't know what was wrong. When I brought it up to my ob,  I didn't even get to finish my sentence and he said yes it's normal.  I'm not having any issues now @ 31 weeks. Hearts beating normal: -)

I guess I'm not sure the difference between palpaltations and murmurs. Maybe? It just feels like a flutter, like my heart is putting in an extra beat, working hard, and I've never had a heart attack but it feels like if I'm not careful I could have one. I could be over exaggerating. Idk.

Are you referring to heart palpitations, because yes, they're common in pregnancy.

I do have my next OB appt this Thursday and will ask her about it then too.
