Really Scared

I'm 18 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I'm completely scared. I fell like I'm missing out on something. I don't think I'm feeling the baby, I'm not getting as big as other women who are at the same point in their pregnancy. I started out overweight, but still I'm freaking. I haven't had my second trimester ultrasound yet, that's this Friday. I have an anxiety problem as it is. I'm just really worried because the worst dreams I could ever imagine have been occurring and it's really starting to get to me. Does anyone know what I'm feeling or am i just being overly anxious because of my mind set.

I've only had three appointments and haven't heard the baby in about 5 weeks. My third appointment was just because my husband transfered duty stations and I had to switch docs.

I feel inferior because I have a history of abuse to my self esteem across the boards. I was hospitalized for it. I can't take any of my meds because they are too dangerous for the baby and the one that I can take I'm not because I was taking it when I was pregnant earlier this year.

I guess it's mostly because I don't like "not knowing". I feel unprepared and vulnerable. Not good things to feel with my mental disorder.

What your feeling is normal.
With my first son TJ I didn't feel movement til 25+ weeks. With Mason my 2nd son I felt movement at about 18 weeks.

weight definitely plays a role in things so it would make sense that you might not feel the baby for a little while.

Once you do though you may regret wishing to feel him/her because it won't stop and kids tend to do it at night lol.

It's not a contest, honey.  Everyone who is pregnant is pregnant differently.

Why do you feel inferior? Size doesn't mean anything, all women will show differently. I hardly had any belly ever, even at 39 weeks. Have you heard the heartbeat at each appointment? If so, you have nothing to concern yourself over. The reason doctors don't have you do kick counts till 28 weeks is because some women (especially if this is your first time being this far along) don't feel the baby move till later in the pregnancy. All women and every pregnancy is different. Don't compare yourself to others, it will just stress you out more.

Is this your first pregnancy? I'm 20 weeks and only just started to feel my baby more then once a day n that's if I just sit and wait to feel it, going bout my normal day i wouldn't even no it was moving, and because u started heavier then it could take longer to show and feel the baby and the baby at this point is still so small so could be hiding until your bout 26 weeks in wouldn't be concerned bout not feeling it all the time
