Your Labor Experience!

If you've have a child before how was your experience? Good? Bad? How long were you in labor? Any meds? How long did you push? C-Section?
I am 26 weeks pregnant with my first child, due January 13th and VERY curious! :)

Mine was good. I started having contractions in the night but i manage to sleep until about 6 then they started getting worse. I had a bath than went to the hospital which was 45mins away. The whole journey ias in agony lol. But i had a natural delivey with no pain releif. It lasted about 8hrs although it didnt feel that long. It was so worth it holding my lil man in thend. Im hoping this baby comes the same with no problems. Good luck x

I was induced at 41w3d. Put the cervadil in at 10 am 8/8/12 then contractions started at 2 pm. Went all that day and night finally got pain meds thru I.v. that night to rest (contractions were long and hard every 1-3 minutes). Got an epidural at 7 am on 8/9/12 30 minutes later dr came in to break my water and come to find out there was more fluids than I was suppose to have, my belly got very soft after (it was hard before). Baby started stressing so they started giving me fluids and put fluids back inside of me. Finally started pushing at 9 cm. Pushed for an hour then they told me to rest for 30 minutes. Pushed another hour and the dr told me to choose between trying the vacuum assistance or go ahead and have csection. I chose vacuum and pushed with that for 30 minutes and she was finally born at 5:34 pm 8/9/12. 8lbs8oz 21.5 inches long!

My first was 23 hours with 3 hours of that pushing.  She too was sunnyside up causing major back labour.  I ended up getting an epidural 14 hours in which lasted about 3 hours.  Vacuum and forceps were both used to remove her (lots of tearing).
My second was 5 hours with 12 min of pushing.  I had fentynyl with her (just takes the edge off and I mean that literally....no pain control at all).
I am hoping this babe will come faster :)

Had a wonderful experience with midwives at a birth center. No pain meds or epidural and I never wished for them (when they aren't an option you don't think to ask).

It seemed my water had broken at 40wks 4days so we had to get contractions started to avoid a c-section. After castor oil, driving bumpy roads, and blue cohosh, I had some, but I was only dilated 1cm. The midwife put in a foley bulb to dilate me to 4cm. Wow that got labor going! Baby was sunny-side-up so I had awful back labor. Saturday night was rough. We went to the birth center about 6:00AM Sunday morning (mother's day - how fitting). About 4:00PM the midwife broke my water and within a half hour I went from 8cm to 10cm and fully effaced and found myself pushing. My son was out 45min later (6 days after due date). Not bad for a first baby.

I had a second degree tear and four first degree tears, but they healed fairly quickly. My baby didn't tuck his chin and he popped out a little too fast (hubby didn't know to put pressure on the baby to ease him out more slowly-didn't mind cause I wanted him to do the delivery).

So I had a wondeful experience overall, though not what I expected (and sure wish we had known the water wasn't broken so we could have let labor start naturally) and can't wait to do it again with our daughter in 2 months!

I was in labor for 23 hours expecting a vaginal birth but had to have an emergency csection because his cord was wrapped around his neck 3 times. But i was on so much medication i only remember bits and pieces. Had an epidural, magnesium iv which you DONT want. Gave Mrs the WORST headache. But when it was time, it was the most amazing day of my life

22 hours.. It was so exhausting! He was way posterior and hadn't dropped yet so that's what took so long with me. I was so exhausted when it came time to push that I was passing out in between pushes. After about four pushes they pulled him out with the forceps. Ripped three different ways, and I remember him telling my husband where to cut the cord, seeing turner for the first time... I can remember the nurse saying he had lots if hair & his weight. After that I don't remember a single thing. I don't remember family coming in or anything. The nurses kept telling me that most ppl don't have such a bad labor and that they aren't all that horrible haha

Just had labor two days ago with my first. It was 16 hours from the time I got at the hospital to when he was born. I went all the way to a 5 before getting an epidural. And was at a 4 before I got the meds in my iv. We both were sick after labor, I had a bad infection and they thought was gonna to but he b didn't. I pushed for an hour and he was here :)

I was in labor with my son for 36 hours! I pushed for 4 hours, he was sunny side up and trying to come out forhead first instead of crown first. I ended up haveing to have a c-section, and had transfered pain durring the c-section. So after they got my son out as they stared to get the placenta out I was able to feel everything only not in my stomach I felt it in my chest. It was the most horrible pain I have ever felt in my life the anistesheologist had to send a nurse out of the room to get meds to knock me out. I had complications after the c-section as well and ended up in the er 2 weeks after and again three weeks after. I'm scheduled for another c-section March 20th. I'm so excited to meet my baby but I'm so scared its going to be as horrible as it was with my son. Hopefully everything goes smoothly with this baby.

My first labor was miserable... I was in labor 20 hours, pushed for 3 of those hours and it resulted in a c section. I had the epidural for sure, LOL!! It was a God send, until it wore off. I've had two repeat c sections since then. The surgery it self went good, but the recovery has sucked every time.

Good. 17 long hours but no meds at all. Pushed 2 hours and he was posterior so that's why such the long labor. So worth it though. As soon as that baby hits your chest you forget the whole thing!
