How To Prepare Hubby

Okay, so I am really new at the DH preperation lol. This is our 3rd child but he was in Iraq for the older boys and missed the labor and delivery. He has been medically discharged so he will be present for this one.

I honestly don't think he will do very well lol. Im scared he will pass out or get sick or have a major panic attack. Is there anything I can do to help him prepare for this baby. We have read baby books especially for dads, seen videos, and went to a few birthing classes, But when it comes down to the nitty gritty Im a tad worried lol. I am having my step mom in the room with me to help comfort DH.

Any stories or opinions are luffed!

Unfortunately no amount of "preperation" is going to prepare him to see HIS wife go through childbirth...especially when he watches the head emerge from an area he's been previous intimate with.  If you think he's gonna be squeemish don't ask him to cut the cord.  I think you've pretty well done all you can do, the rest is up to him now.

I understand your concern for DH, anytime they watch us in pain is difficult. But seeing as he was in the military, especially in recent times, I am sure that he has seen some fairly "gory" things. Maybe it's just anxiety of having him in the room for the first time. Besides if he passes out they just move him aside and keep focusing on you and the baby. The worst thing I think would be he wouldn't want to have sex **ever** again, but you know as well as I do that'll only last a little while.
