How can you date...

date a pregnancy after you had a miscarriage?  Okay this is the question that has been bugging me for a long time now.  If you had a miscarriage and got pregnant right away without getting your first period, then how can you date?  Is it from when you think you ovulated/conceived?  So let's say I know that I ovulated on 12-31 and we had sex and I conceived that day - how far along would you be right now (today's date) if you were pregnant?  2 weeks and some odd days?  If that is so then you probably wouldn't have enough HCG in your system to get a postive pregnancy test?!  I'm just trying to figure this out I guess.

And besides you all knew I couldn't say away for long right?  LOL

I was told with my  last m/c that since it was naturally... To count it as a period.... Because in it's own way it is..... And if you miscarry, you still ovulate.. Because your body thinks of it as a period.......... Hope that helps some. That's what I was told....

Wow.  Really.  I never knew that.  So I m/c naturally - but what date do you count that from hun?  If your saying that they consider that a period - do you take that from the first moment you began bleeding or at the beginning of the actual miscarriage?  My actual m/c started 12-12 and my bleeding stopped 12-23.  If that is the case and I ovulated when I thought I did - then by now I think I would get a postive pg test - which means I'm probably not going to be pg - but then if that is also the case then my period is late - was supposed to begin on 1-16-08 - by going with your explaination.

Maybe I should have asked better with doctor.  Now this is interesting.

Well, they would do a u/s if you were. But Guessing you got pregnant on 12-31 Then today you would be 3weeks and I would think HPT would show + or -.

When i miscarried I treated it like a period also, both times. After I miscarried, 2 weeks later I ovulated, right on schedule and 2 weeks later found out I was pregnant again. But my doctors wanted to do an u/s just to be sure though. And I was right on time! If you ovulated on the 31st...you would be right aroudn 5 weeks today. You should be able to get a positive test by now, unless the dates were just a little off.

Well, yeah see.  No matter how I look at things I am seeing that I should have gotten a postive pregnancy test by now.  However when I was first pg with the first angel I had taken a pg test (behind my fiance's back) when I realized I was like a week late with my period and it was negative - keept on testing and kept on getting negatives and then I let it go and stopped testing - AF never came on and then finally like 20 something days late I decided to do one more test and I did and it was positive and I was already 7 weeks pregnant.

I am not holding out much hope - and hoping that this means AF will come, but as of today AF is 5 days late.  All my symptoms are still around and bugging me, and wishing they would stop.  I'm just a very confused person - unless I ovulated later than normal, I don't know.  The only other time I could have ovulated was on 1-2-08 - sighs

I treated mine like a period.. I had werid symptoms and most of you on here know I thought I was pregnant because I thought I was having implantation bleeding.. Which I was.. but it turned heavier.... so it was a m/c.... So I counted it from the FIRST day that I saw ANYTHING.... Red, brown, pink... ..

Well, I guess according to mymonthlycycles (with 12-12 as period) I am 35 days in between cycles - and ovulated on 1-2-08 (which I believe because it was right on when I got pg the first time).  We will see I guess - today I am 5 days late and so yeah.  I would rather see AF at this point - put a stop to everything once and for all - I will just keep watching my body and if no AF in another couple of weeks - then I'll retest.
