I voted on time b/c I was due 12/6 and he arrived at 12/5 at 6 pm.
I went a week and a day passed my due date.
Most first time mothers tend to go overdue because their bodies usually aren't quite sure how to react to the situation, and we end up having to get an induction half the time. lol
i was overdue with both of my kids. with my first it was about 9 days and with my second it was 7 days. they were both big babies, my first was 9lbs 1oz and my second was 10lbs 5 oz.
I voted 3 days early. My water broke 3 days early at 10 pm and I finally had her at 7pm the next day, so she really was only 2 days early. Which was fine by me because she was due on Christmas day, and I really wanted her to have her own special day. It was still special because we got to bring her home on Christmas day instead. She was the best present we ever had!
i was 4 days early with my first then a week early with my second they say first time its not un common to go past due date! lost my MP 4 days early and then it all happened that night and into the next morning!
id have to say tho that most subsequent babies are earier than the one before them :)
good luck!!!
i went into labour with my daughter 4 days before her due date but i didnt deliver her until the day before her dew date so she ended up being only one day early. i also heard first babys come late.
I have two older brothers. the oldest was born 2 weeks late, my other brother was 2 weeks early and i was too the day!
When I had my check up at 37 weeks my husband and I thought we were in the clear for us to be intimate and be safe if I did go into labor as far as the baby was concerned... We did the deed Sunday night and my son was born Tuesday... I delivered about 2.5 weeks early.
I have heard that most first timers are late too. My sons due date was June 22nd and I was induced on the 19th so I am not too good of an example, but I was in labor for 36 hours so I probably would have been late. I was in labor for longer than 24 with no change so not true labor mut medicated labor (pitocin) My friend with her first her water broke when she was 37 weeks so it really varies! Good Luck Mommies to be!
wow lots of response thanks mommies and mommies to be! I am sure alot of first timers like me are curious too
I heard most first timers are late as well
I chose 3 days early but it was actually 2 days early. Most first time babies are born late.
WIth my first i was 10 days overdue.. I went the day before my induction.. Labor was 8 hours and with my second i was 7 days overdue and again went the day before induction.. That labor was 2 hours... So again i think it depends on the person but i have heard it is common to go over with your first..
My cousin just found out she's pregnant with her 2nd on Thanksgiving. Her first ...she was late! lol like a week I think. I believe she had to be induced...I guess our bodies just don't know when to get rid of the first babies! The second times its like ohhhh i remember this!
I heard that the majority of first time mommies go late as well. My two friends gave birth about 1-2 weeks after their due date. I'm positive that I would of gone past my due date since I was only at 1 1/2 cm and no bad contractions. Ended up getting a version to turn the baby because she was breech and then I got in a car accident the day after the version and then the next morning my water broke. I had to be induced in the hospital because I still wasn't making progress even then. :(
My first was 9 days early - I went into labor on my own. I had back labor for 28 hours!!! I wasn't progressing so they broke my water and gave me some drugs to speed things along. The contractions were strong and steady but I would not dialate.
I was a week past due and had a scheduled c-section, because baby still hadn't dropped and I had no effacement, dilation, or anything. He was also measuring 10.5 pounds on the ultrasound (and came out at 11 lb. 1 oz!!!)........ I've heard that many first time moms go past due.
I was actually induced 2 weeks early.... dont know if that helps bc i cant really tell if I would have went over or not.....
They induced me early bc I had already dialated to 4 cm and just would not GO any further.... so the gave me a little help
i was 39 weeks w/ my first but of course that's still considered full term (i chose 1 week early). i also heard that w/ your first its not common to go early but everyone is different.
I was one of the few that delivered on their due date. He came when he was ready. :o)
Oh and my second, was 5 weeks on the dot! They haven't the slightest idea why I go early, spontaneous preterm labor! That's all.
AHAHA weird.
BUT my sister went into labor on her due date, at 2 am, and then 7 hours later, she had my nephew. So she was right on time.
My SIL went 10 days over with her first, and had to be induced.
And I have another SIL who is 36 weeks right now. We'll see for her!
I'm a first time mom, so I don't have an answer yet! I, like Laura, have heard that FTM's tend to be "late".
My mom told me yesterday tho, that I came a day before my due date. She knew exactly what day she conceived in October, and I was born one day before the 9 month mark in July.
Ideally, I'd like my little guy to come before his due date ...but I'll let him hang out until he's way overdue ... then I'm getting an eviction notice.
wow five weeks that is the earliest I have heard so far. thanks for the vote Ashie and Grandmatobe!
thanks for sharing your experience
I chose 4 weeks earlier, but my baby girl came 5w6d early. Soooooooo, yeah. I had 4 other girls though, who were due around me with their first babies... 3 went overdue, by 2 weeks, and one was 3 days early. So I guess it depends on the person!
tell me about it! LOL I posted it on the Maternal and child section too if you are curious and would like to see the results. But we have lots of mommies here too so we might get a good response soon
