My first 2 kids are 10 years apart... sometimes I wish they were closer, but I was only 16 when I had my daughter and was in no way ready for another that early! Sometimes though, its nice to have such a HUGE helper! And she was fairly independent while I was on bedrest with him which made things SO much easier... she could even help me a little when I needed it.
Now my daughter just turned 12,  my son is going to be 2 in January, and our 3rd is due March 3, 2010.... I'm pretty excited that my son will have a brother his age, but a little nervous about having 2 little ones to chase after and take care of at once... especially since my son is such a momma's boy! LOL! Not to mention getting my daughter to all of her activities like Girl Scouts, etc... and having time to still make her feel important... sometimes I can tell she feels like the little ones take away some of her attention, especially since she was the ONLY child for SO long! I know it will all work out though, and everything will be great!
Anyway... Honestly, I really don't think there is any "perfect spacing" of kids... I think no matter when you have them it just works out for you! Good Luck!
