Breastfeeding

My soon to be mother in law asked who would be watching my son while i go to school (college) well i responded that it all depends because i will be breastfeeding and i will have to pump and ect when the semester starts. She told me how nasty breastfeeding was and then told me i probably wasn't going to be able too! Uhhhhh how annoying...

Like i always say BREAST FED IS BEST FED LOL..just give her facts each time u talk to her about how beneficial it is for your baby i did this wit hubby n he got on board. New fact is it kills cancer cells right in its tracks.. The facts are amazing and my lil man had no trouble latching right after he came out hope its easy for u but dnt give up if its not it can take time.

and how the EFF does she think she was fed when she was a baby???? Breast feeding is the most NATURAL and BEST thing for a baby!!! thats why our b00bs leak! its FOOD...before pumps and formula was even ever made, how the heck does she think babies got fed???

I would said..don't even licen to her and do what you think is better whit you and baby I think breastfeeding is great and if you pump to feed while you in school that's just fine

Ignore her!! Breast milk is best!! It's hard and you need good support around you for success, but it is so worth every second.

Regarding knowing how, it doesn't always come naturally, but that is what lactation consultants are for.  I took a one-hour class at the hospital and that is all I needed (but I did need it.  I would never know about the nipple hamburger without it).  lol

breastfeeding has alot more benefits then formula feeding. I've heard alot of negative stories about breastfeeding & mostly every mother i know formula fed, but I'm still choosing to breastfeed. it wouldn't hurt to try & if anything I'll just pump

Ignore her comments. There is no reason to believe you won't be able to, and it's not nasty. Far from it. Some babies have a hard time at first but if you are committed, you will both figure it out. It is an amazing bonding experience, and so great for your baby.

Breastfeeding isn't nasty.  Her opinions are old-fashioned.  Not old fashioned like great-grandma's opinions (she would have approved) but more like the 1950s when doctors thought formula was better because you could measure how much the baby drank.  I'm sorry she feels this way, and even sorrier she felt like telling you so.  Breastfeeding is so good for the baby.

I never breastfed on the breast I pumped the entire time. But ur supply don't come in as fast or as good. I had to supplement.

If your baby doesnt latch u can pump frm day one n still feed him/her breastmilk jus take pump with u to hospital I am! sum ppl r very discouraging wen it comes to that
