How much dose it cost to have a baby boy circomsized?

I'm not sure what I'm having yet but I think its a boy.  I was told that medicaid dose not cover the cost of having a baby boy circomsized.  Dose any one know how much it is?

I live in Prairieville Louisiana, close to baton Rouge,  an we have a program for pregnant woman called LaMoms,  ( Its a program through medicaid.)  I have not called medicaid yet but I have heard people say over the years that It dose not cover it because its not a "have too" sort of thing.  Thats why everyone I know that had medicaid when they had their boys did not have it done.   So I just wanted to know what I need to do before the time comes.  I dont know if its a boy or girl yet.  But I'm not one to procrastinate.  Louisiana is a poor state an since Katrina they are very cut throat with all kinds of funding.  Then we just had Gustov too.  So needless to say I was just wondering.  Anita DeVall

Wow, I had no idea that some insurances don't pay for it...Hmmm learn something new everyday.  I'm very surprised medicaid doesn't pay for it.  You could always ask your Dr. or call the hospital they should let you know way before the baby comes so you aren't surprised.

Well at my doctors, if you know your having a boy you need to have the money paid to the doctor before 32 weeks!  Most places make you pay up front, you have to ask if they will bill.  I'd just pay it up front so you don't have to worry about it

My husbands new insurance, actually covers circumcizing now.  Which is awesome for the next boy lol

Wow...what states do you guys live in? My son's was $670...but my insurance covered it.

i paid 175 to have it done on my last son and i got billed for it . and why wont meidcaid pay for it i have a friend who had it done when she had her kid and they covered everything now we live in virginia so im not sure if each state is different... but insurance shoud cover it.....

Does insurance cover it?  I don't have to do it because of faith but dh and I wanted to have it done...I never even thought of paying for it lol

thanks!  I want to have money saved for it.  I just don't want to be in shock when the time comes.  An I have to have it done due to my faith.

really depends on where you live i suppose   my son was $250

i paid 150.00  for mine...i think its usually around 150-200
