Pumping is a very tiring, time-consuming process as it isn't as efficient as the baby suckling. However, if you are not breast feeding then the time you would be doing that you can pump instead and I think it would make this better. With my son, he had a tied tongue and I had flat nipples so lots of latching problems. I would put him to the breast for 20min or so each, feed him a bottle afterwards because he wasn't getting enough (I was going to a LC and having him monitored is how I know) and then pump. So I felt like a feeding machine!! Either way it's worth it, just get a schedule down :)
When I had my first, he was in the hospital for 2 weeks and I had no choice but to pump, I regularly pumped with a hospital grade pump every 2 hours, I only nursed my son till he was about 3 months but I had stored enough milk in my freezer to give him nothing but breast milk til he was about 6-7 months old, as long as you can keep yourself on a strict schedule your baby gets what they deserve, you get to lose the weight faster and every one is happy :-) either way, whether you choose to pump or not, pumping is better then not at all (-: good luck
