I didn't.hear.the heart beat with my own dopplar until I went to the Dr and saw where he was lookin for it. When i was around 13 weeks it was low, well below my belly button. I was lookin all over the place for it and wasn't close at all. Don't panic if you don't find it. My Dr didn't even want me to get one because he was concerned it would cause me more anxiety than anything. But once I learned where he was i didn't have a problem.
I didnt get my doppler until i was 15 weeks i think. I had to search for ages before i could find the heartbeat! Persevere and u will need to get really low down, like right on your pubic bone to find the heartbeat. You will notice as the weeks go on that the heartbeat gets higher and higher.
Stick with it!
from what i can notice on the doppler that i have that i use it actually sounds like a horse is running really fast. i had a little bit of a problem finding the heart beat at 13 weeks too up until i hit week 14 or 15 and now that im 16 weeks pregnant it dont take too long now=).
Thank you. I can't figure out if it's my heartbeat or the baby's.
Is it a medical grade Doppler like they use at the drs office? If so make sure you use lots of the gel in the end and place it right above your pubic bone. Use that as ur guide basically. Move slowly from one side to the other. When you get too far over like close to your ovary you will pick up your pulse so u know u have gone too far. It will usually be in that center area right above the pubic bone. It will be really fast and sound like a galloping horse when u get babys heartbeat. Good luck.
