already 50% effaced??

when i was at l&d the nurse checked me and said i was already 50% effaced but not dilated...im 32 weeks..does this mean ill go into labor early?

no its dosnt mean you will go into labor. at 21wks i was 1 cm dialated by 34wks i was 80% effaced and 5cm dialated and was still pregnant another 2wks. he came a mo early but is perfect and is now 17days old. effacment just means your cervix is thining out but if no dialation is present then your cervix is still completly closed. good luck

well i hope that's the case with me cause i still have a little less than 5 weeks till full term and that's a long time to go!

Not necessarily.  Some women can efface and even dialate a little weeks before actually going into birth. I have a friend who was effaced and dialated to 2 cms at 32 weeks and lost part of her mucus plug and stayed that way...ended up being induced on her due date.

im not on bed rest just supposed to take it easy until i see my primary doctor... ive been stayin home and layin around a good bit until then.

NO not at all!!! your cervix really needs rest and I think you are already on bed rest right?? If not you need to be. It can get thicker so I woudl not worry about it at this point. I would not let anyone else check you vaginally though and only let them do a us cervical check from here on out. Also progesterone cream can fix you back to normal, ask your OB about that.
