Shave for labor?

Is anyone not shaving for when they go into labor? Ever since my stomach got too big for me to shave, I just haven't. & I know doctors are used to seeing all kinds of vaginas but I just feel so awkward knowing my legs are gonna be wide open and I'm not shaved at all. On top of that my mom really wants to be in the room and I don't want her to see that either

I didn't shave, I only shaved what I could see at least. And my mom and sister saw my baby coming out. I wasn't comfortable shaving towards the end of my pregnancy. I also tore a little (2nd degree tear) and the dr had no problems with stitching me up when everything was done. But I kept up with it pretty well until I hit around 9 months. Just don't worry too much about shaving if your not comfortable doing so.

Yeah that's the only thing, I know once I'm in labor and pushing I won't even care about it at the time, but I just feel like I'd feel better about myself if I could shave. Maybe I'll just try trimming a little

Ive kept up shaving my whole pregnancy. For me it was just like a self esteem thing. I felt like i needed to keep to what i had done before i was pregnant and of course kept shaving for my husband.

I think it's better to shave, with my experience, during your water breaking and gushing out the whole time, then the messiness of delivery and the bleeding you'll be experiencing afterwards, it'd be best to shave. Even if it is done mildly, it's gonna stay a lot cleaner smelling after the process - and for when you get home and are dealing with the pp bleeding and stitches healing (if you tear) as well

My ob-gyn told me that about half of the women shave and half don't.  He was bored with the whole question and did not have a preference.  If it was necessary for hygiene he certainly would have suggested I shave.

Yes I agree with Patricia!!!
Brazilian wax is Best thing ever created... No razor bumps,  hair grows slower, and you just lay there and let them do the work.  Lol.  I get the sugar done it's great.

My opinion brazilian wax been the best thing I've ever done it was my first time ever doing it it's been like 4 weeks and my hair is barelyy growing back and it was not so painful like some people make it sound, I'm due November 14 so I will be back towards end of October I loved it made me feel so fresh clean and smooth !! Lol now when I go to the doctor I feel so comfortable if they have to check down there before I would pray to God they wouldn't bc I was scare to give them a heart attack lol even tho I know they probably seen worst

I do shave. I did with my last two. I just sat on the floor spred my legs and had a fold up mirror with good lighting works. I like knowing im propaired bec thry will shave you if they have to do stuff down there and my aunt had a baddd experience with them doing the shaving so i suggest to shave if your able.

It's best to shave . It'll help the GYN see if you ripped , when the baby's head is out , and easy to detect difficulties . Now if you just have little stubbles of hair , you should be fine . But if they are long , you'll feel a lot of pulling and tugging

My husband shaved mine with my last pregnancy and I'm probably not gonna worry about it this time since my Dr has delivered all my babys, she's more focused on delivering my baby and not my hairy legs and whoha lol. I just think she's probably seen worse.

I'm not going to go out of my way to shave while I'm laboring at home, but despite not being able to see my vagina I do shave once a week because the hair just makes me itch. It may not be the prettiest but whatever. Good enough for me to feel comfortable and at least trimmed for the big day

I will not be. I didnt with my first 2, and it was never brought up during labor. I think docs are very use to it. They only will shave your bikini line if you need c section i believe.

I'm not going to, I can't see over my belly and the doctor isn't gonna say anything and your mom shouldn't either, she'll be too happy to see your beautiful babe
