pros and cons of having a baby shower?

Im 25 weeks and my partner and I cant decide on having a baby shower.. initially we had a friend offer to throw one for us (before that it hadn't even crossed my mind!) But after finding out we're having a boy she can't be bothered anymore. That doesn't bother me I never expected anything to begin with.
I have no idea what to do for a baby shower or anything. My partner really wants to have one though, he's so excited to be a daddy.

They are lots of fun and you get alot of adorable and helpful stuff, its fun to have those memories for the baby book and with your family and friends playing silly games. They can get to be a little exspensive. Alot of the gifts get repetitive, no one really follows a registry. Alot of receiving blankets, clothes, things that they grow out of too fast to use them all. But I didn't know that until my daughter had outgrown them and couldn't return. I swear I have at least 100 receiving blankets and burp cloths/bibs lol. You could always do a diaper party where people just bring diapers, alot will bring an outfit or something anyway.

You should, get lots of good stuff.  There are plenty of ideas on the internet like baby shower games and themes. Diaper raffles etc.
