BBT

Im in my 2ww, (week 2 actually) Do your temps typically always jump up higher if your pregnant or can they remain a steady pattern? Mine has remaineed pretty steady the last week or so?

Yesterday at 11dpo (day 28 of af cycle) I tested - hpt. Im usually a 28-32 day cycle. I will test again this wknd if AF doesnt come....yesterdays - was so disappointing, bc I thought I did everything "right" last month.   :(

Your temp will rise after you ovulate and will stay higher until AF is on the way.  For some, their temp will begin to dip 1-2 days before AF.  For some, you will get the dip the day of AF.  There was one time when my temp didn't actually dip until the day after I started AF but I think it was because I started late at night so my hormone levels began lowering during that entire day.

I have a picture of my BFP chart under my profile if you want to take a look.  I wish you all the best of luck!!!

I didn't ovulate for six or seven months when I began charting. If I were you, I would test again an if its negative call your GYN an they'll probably give you Provera. I took it when I was about to expect my second missed period. After six months I finally ovulated on my own, but I missed the egg. The next month I started clomid and conceived. I dont' bother with opk's bc they would detect small lh surges an get my hopes up. It's common in women with pcos to get positive opk's and never ovulate.

Were there ever months you dont think you ovulated based on your charting?? This month for me has been a nightmare...so frustrating...Im late, no AF and BFN tests...so i guess i will just skip af all together this month? (i dont think i ovulated?) i had a + opk for 6 days but maybe never released the egg?

I have PCOS so the OPK's really never worked for me. I would get an almost positive opk, and then it would fade off, then it would come back...it was a nightmare! For it to be positive the test line has to be as dark or darker than the control line. And you're not supposed to use fmu with opk's, it's better to test later in the day, it was just really annoying to me. So I started charting and I absolutely fell in love with it. I started in December b/c I wasn't ovulating and it helped me to see that. So in February I ovulated on my own an we missed it, then March was our first cycle of clomid and we conceived! Go to http://tcoyf.com/ I bought the book and it helped me better understand my cycle and all that. When you ovulate your temp will spike by about a degree and it will be sustained until your period. But that book really helped me an I bought it at a used book store (mckays-I dont know if you have anything like that or if it's only in tn) for $1.50!

Yes,
My temps typically go from 97.5 or so, to 99 when I ovulate, they may dip slightly but then go back up. DH always can tell cause I run warmer than usual, also I usually know if we conceived because I get bloated and stay bloated.

Thanks guys!
I just started temps this month...a nurse  told me about it. I had a 6day +opk so i was wondering what was up, she suggested to start temps so we can see if in fact I did O...we think i O around CD18, so i POSSIBLY caught it in time this month..?? Im supposed to start Friday (day 32) so we will see!! eeks!

Why didn't you chart before o? That way we could see the thermal shift a little better to accurately pin point o. But, generally it will be sustained until you start your period. They can remain steady (mine did), or they can become triphasic, where you can clearly see your preovulatory temps, and two sets of post ovulatory temps. The post ovulatory steps will rise again and that rise will be sustained also.

U can also see a dip if there is implantation. They say that 18 hight temps is a pretty clear sign that your preggers. Good luck and BBD!!

I think everyone is different.  But if they dip that usually means AF is coming.  I think your chart looks good so far.  GOOD LUCK!!
