States are actually outlawing Drs inducing before 39 weeks unless its an emergency. I think the problem is that these days women get uncomfortable and want the pregnancy over so they tell their Dr to induce to get it over with. I myself have had two pregnancies go naturally by themselves and one was induced because he was two weeks late. I loved the two that went naturally because the moment when I get to tell my husband "its time" the feeling is so exciting. I think its good that the states are passing laws for induction to early for no good reason.
I've heard of some hospitals in the US not allowing elective inductions before 39 weeks. That's how the hosp I'm going to does it. Also, c-sections are at 39 weeks instead of 38 like they were just a couple years ago.
well that helps by softening the cervix, but if your pregnancy is normal, you can start taking raspberry leaf tablets from 36 wks onwards, everyday, once you've hit 40 wks you can try acupuncture or reflexology/pressure points on your feet, with them focusing on your uterus points, usually that can be enough to get contractions going, but would def reccomend the raspberry tablets as well, it wont make you go into labour but it tones and strengthens your uterus, so when you go into labour, your contractions work more efficently, therefoe it can shorten your labour :)
That's good to hear ! and I've heard that sex is a great way to naturally bring on labor ;p
yes you can refuse, as long as your both healthy you can, also there are natural ways to help bring on labour once you've hit 40 wks, that can work really well :)
Yea, I want to make sure my son is fully developed and come when he's ready to come. I don't wanna be induced unless absolutely medically necessary before 40 weeks.
Can I refuse an induction if my doctor suggests one before then?
