I never knew u could request for your baby not to leave the room! I'm going to do that because i have always been afraid of them switching my baby or some weirdo taking my child!
You can request your baby immediately after being born. Have them wipe him or her off then do skin to skin (a good connection) and eventually she or he will nod on over to your breast :)
I did not. Idk about latching problems, but the lactation lady stood right there next to me and said the key is to get as much of your whole nipple/areola in their mouth as possible bc they need to learn to hook their tongue under and pull.
Haha that's so cute. Did u have An epidural? I heard it causes latching problems? :(
I will have Bella in my room with me. There will always be someone in there with me to help, be it Chris, my mom, my sister or any other family memeber
My hospital does a room with mom thing. Unless there's something seriously wrong with baby they prefer to,have baby stay with mama after delivery
Yes. After they weighed and measured my daughter they wiped her down and swaddled her they immediately handed her to me so she could latch instantly. She was already searching for the boob while they were diapering her.
Nope. You can tell them you don't want baby removed from your room. They will still check apgar and all other vitals but they can do that in the same room you give birth. :)
Ok i got Kinda scared lol
Thats all up to you if you want your baby in the nursery or not
Do they have to take baby to the nursery? I dont want them to. My hubby will be there with me so i don't see the point of them taking him?
Yes. My sister exclusively breastfed and her daughter latched 5 minutes after birth for her first feeding. She requested that the hospital not take her to the nursery so she could continue to breastfeed.
