we brought him to the doctors tonight and she said it sounds like he has acid reflux..because of what we told her..so she put him on 1 ML of Axid..hopefully that helps..she said to give it a week and if it doesn't help she said she will change his formula...she said she believes he has it because of the eating 2ozs and then screaming and won't stop, arching of the back when he is crying and that he is very gassy..so please pray that the medication will help

I had the same issue, and im still having the same issue. I even tried the Dr. browns bottles and...Conner still screamed and thrashed around. We switched formula thinking it was colic, and it helped for the first 2 weeks of the month that he was on it, then he started spitting up more, being really fussy and seemed as if he was in pain. So we switched his formula once more. He still continued........To make a long story short, My doc diagnosed him with GERD or Acid reflux and put him on 1 ml of Zantac. Aiden could have whats called *silent* reflux, where he has no symptoms of the actual problem, instead of spitting up, he could just regergitate and swallow.

Here is something to try first- Look up Dr. Harvey Karp and *The happiest baby on the block* and do a youtube search, and try his methods first....he is a literal miracle worker and saved me many sleepless nights.

If all else fails, request to see a GI and get him tested for reflux. Below are some of the symptoms that can occur with reflux.

Frequent or recurrent vomiting
Frequent or persistent cough
Heartburn, gas, abdominal pain, or colicky behavior (frequent crying and fussiness)
Regurgitation and re-swallowing

These are other GERD symptoms

Colic (frequent crying and fussiness)
Feeding problems
Recurrent choking or gagging
Poor growth
Breathing problems
Recurrent wheezing
Recurrent pneumonia

Im wishing you the best!

Jadyn is about the same age and he did this too when he was about 2 weeks.. and it would only be when I gave him formula.. so we switched his formula and he would still do that.. get really stiff after eating a little bit and just scream and scream until finally he got tired and would eat more then do the same thing.. we were using the playtex drop ins and so my mom bought a dr browns bottle to try.. it is literally the miracle bottle.. no more screaming, no more gas, burps right when i prop him upright.. if you don't use the doctor browns bottles they are seriously worth the extra few dollars.. Jadyn will eat about 4 ounces and sleep 4-5 hours at night now.. and i swear it has to be because of the bottle.

It sounds like gas pains to me.  Maybe it is the iron that is starting to upset his belly.  If this keeps going on you may have to change his formula.  Mollie did this the other day but I have found that her and broccoli dont go.  So I have had to eliminate that from my diet.  Choosing the right formula can sometimes be a little tricky.  There are so many different kinds.  Is he having good, regular bowel movements?  Could he be constipated??

If his nose is stuffy then he can't breath while eating. Suction his nose out and try again. Some babies are also very sensitive to cow's milk (the protein is harder to digest). If you think it is the formula, then ask to switch. But if it is because of his cold, just make sure he's propped up really good and his nose is clear!
