I don't take pre-natals, most of the made me sick. However, I do take finestone vitamins lol. My sis and my husband's aunt both did during their pregnancies and their children are perfectly fine. Also, I believe simplylizzy is mistaken, folic acid does not prevent down syndrome. DS is something that happens at conception, it does not randomly develop during pregnancy, so there is absolutely no way that it can be prevented. It is a chromosomal abnormality, so don't worry that if you don't take pre-natals that your baby will have DS. But, it is important to take some sort of vitamin that has the appropriate nutrients that you need and that your baby needs in order for healthy development! :)

I couldn't because they made me unbelievably nauseous so I just ate twice as many veggies and ate foods high in vitamins

I take mine everyday. There's gummy ones that are delicious and enjoyable to take. There's really no reason to not take them. It's a simple thing you can do..

I can't take vitamins because they make me so sick. My doctor told me to take folic acid and DHA vitamins. I take them before bed so I don't throw them up. You need folic acid to prevent down syndrome or autism. DHA is good for brain growth. The choice is up to you but for me as a mom I want to do everything possible to make sure my baby is healthy. I feel if I don't do everything I can as a mom and my child is born with difficulty I will always wonder if I could have done something to prevent it. I don't want to give myself a reason to blame myself. Good luck and talk to your doctor.

Uh u should take them!  Because I doubt you have a supreme diet that has enough vitamins and minerals that a prenatal vitamin does. Ur baby needs folic acid and all the others. Targets brand has a good one it's affordable like 6 bucks I take it it's easy to swallow and doesn't make u sick. I take it at night
