How do you even get it. I've had a lot of sugar my pregnancy, lik and ice cream , chocolate, candies but I've only been drinking water. Could I be at risk? I took my test today .

I've had gestational diabetes with both my pregnancies.  I can say it ***** because you are limited to what you can eat,NO sweets, juices, sodas, etc . As long as you keep up with the diet and you and baby should be fine. The main reason they put you on a diet is 1) Doc does not want for baby to be big 2) Your baby may have a problem at birth and by that I mean low blood sugars. It may feel like you have failed but you haven't, it happens at times.

Also at times they may put you on insulin but that's if you are unable to keep your sugar levels under control.

When did they test you for that

I have it and as long as you eat right and keep your sugar levels good you'll be fine and my doctor said they only induce if they see a problem

Yeah that's my concern also. But we gotta do what we gotta do. I'm sure the babies will be fine :)

I have it as well. I'm still having a hard time accepting it because, like you said, I feel like I did this to my baby. But in the grand scheme of things... It could be a whole lot worse. For me the worst part is the diet. I don't mind testing 4x a day, but I hate being so limited in what I eat. I've never dieted in my life so it's a big adjustment. Right now my baby its measuring 2 weeks ahead. If you're like me they'll have you do a few more ultrasounds to check on growth.

Just because you have gestational diabetes doesn't mean you will have a big baby. Don't worry to much! xx

I was induced 2 weeks early, he only weighed 6pounds 10ounces! He was perfect, no complications whatsoever :)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I had it and my doctor never even told me. My son was perfectly healthy the whole pregnancy. The only thing was he turned out to be a large baby. but he is more than perfect other wise! (: so just be sure to watch what you eat. It'll all be okay. (:

How long did it take for them to call you with your results? I took the test and I feel like I might have it because of how often I give into my sugar cravings!

My heart broke when I got the phone call from my doctor with my results. I was at work and started bawling!! I feel like I've failed my baby and put his health in danger.

I get tested in exactly 12 hours. Didn't have it with multiple first, but I'm scared this time.

Are your babies okay? Did you have to get induced?

I had it and I had to check bloods 3x times a day plus self inject insulin. All you really have to do is maintain a healthy diet. It goes away after labour.

I have it too.. I have to test my blood four times a day, but you get use to it.
Just watch your diet and you should be fine you might need insulin if it's bad though.
You will be fine, it will go away once you Give birth.
