Jondis (sp) ?

So my baby boy is slightly jondis. I'm mot exactly sure what this is. I know it's something to do with blood. Anyone have some insight? What do they do with jondis babies?

We're doing better. I've calmed down and talked to the doctors. If everything goes good he'll get released tomorrow. I am having to breastfeed and supplement with formula so he doesn't get dehydrated.

That happened with my youngest son...he had to stay one extra night but it all cleared up.  As long as he clears up he will be ok...they will check him again at his 1 week appointment.

Srry thought u had him hm already. My daughter was under the light for a week, but she was premature.

My niece had this...she is a month ole.....there's nothing to worry about....the doctors told her to breast and formula feed her baby at home because it help to clear it up :).....

Jaundice occurs when bilirubin builds up faster than baby's liver can break it down.  It's not uncommon.  Treatment usually involves some time under "bili lights" (phototherapy).

They came in a few minutes ago and put him under the bili lite. It's like a tanning bed. I am so distraut. I was really looking forward to taking my baby home today.

Try googling jaundice, that way u can get more info so u kno what to expect.

Let ur dr kno, usually they have u keep him in sunlight n if that doesnt wk they put him under the blue light at the hospital.
