Yeah they'll be able to tell you too. If possible, you might work on getting an OB. I would guess they might want to monitor you more than the average woman. It's also good to have the same doctor so they know what to keep an eye on. I'm very glad it wasn't what you feared; when I started bleeding it terrified me too.
I don't have an OB that was done at the hospital.. I go next Thurs to the hospitals early pregnancy unit for a follow up
She'll monitor you. I'm not an expert on this, I just did some major reading when I started to bleed early in my pregnancy. But I think it kinda depends on how big it is and how it affects the placenta; so I wouldn't worry yet. Like ashelen says, usually they just resolve on their own. Your next visit to your OB will tell you more.
My Dr told me the bleeding was behind the placenta but she received the exact report she gave me and it says no where on there that it is behind the placenta
apparently the bleeding is behind the placenta... is that worse?
It sounds like the baby is okay, at least for now. He's growing, he has a normal heartbeat, he's alive. But you have more or less a blood clot in your uterus. Sometimes they resolve on their own, and occasionally when they develop in a bad spot or cause the placenta to detach from the uterine wall they cause a miscarriage, but either way you'll probably bleed more than your average pregnant woman. If I were you, I'd be cautiously optimistic. I'll add you and your baby to my prayers; I don't know if you're a religious woman but even if not, a little extra hopeful thought won't hurt. :)
