Just thinking.

So, For as long as i can remember I've ALWAYS wanted a baby. For my like 8th Christmas "Santa" got me a baby doll that was actually the weight of a real baby I carried it around with me everywhere. Now that I am actually pregnant I think about how different it is these days from when I was a kid. I wish it was like back in the day, Don't get me wrong I love how far we have came but the violence & kid naps didn't seem that bad back then. I remember being able to drive across the dams, and walk to school with out having to be worried about something bad happening. Now the worlds a very messed up place with lots of sicko's out there, Is it strange that I am kinda nervous about bring a child into this mess?

I think all these bad stuffs been around since forever, just that we're more aware of it now just like the other mommies have said. and yes it freaks me out, knowing im having a baby girl soon and i really want to be able to take care of her, and that nothing dangerous will come in her path. All I can say is its all in God, angels, daddy &my hands to do so much for them. Just teaching them right from wrong and on the look out for no predator or sicko to get freaking near my daughter.

Luckly I can be a stay at home mother since my Fiance has a really good job So I wont have to have a daycare/nanny. As much as i would enjoy having a job I dont feel safe letting my child be watched by some one that I dont know. Theres a case going on in my area that I actually know the father of where the nanny killed the 1 year old little boy. Only lots of people me personaly think the mother has something to do with it. but its just really sad. I'm going to be freaking out all the time

I agree with mablemouse. But I am also very scared to bring my child into this crazy world. I don't even want to put my kid into daycare because I won't be there to watch her.. I'm gonna freak when its her first day of school!

I think there have always been sickos around, we just have more coverage on news reports/the Internet now so it seems like there is a lot more.. Either way I'm watching my baby like a hawk when he/she arrives, it even makes me sick when I see parents that let their babies run around supermarkets because all these things we hear about happening scare me too.. I guess it's just something we can't control, just teach your children well about stranger danger etc and always watch your kids. It sad we have to be so worried but there always has been and always will be sick people in the world.

nope. I feel the same way. I hate bringing my child into a world that is a complete mess but would trade nothing in the world for him. I'll just raise him to be better than what's going on and do my best to protect him. I mean. what else can you do?

I don't think that there really is much of a difference, I'm sure that when you were younger your parents stressed about all of that stuff, I think you're just move aware of it now.
