so far i do not this time however i did with my daughter 3 years ago. i would wrap a heating pad around one wrist and alternate for a lil while but always wore the wrist guards at night even though they were not the most comfortable. i also wore them throughout the day as needed.
i completely understand your pain!! with my son it was so bad it did wake me up at night, and i would cry sometimes because I couldnt get back to sleep. What helped me a lot was having his father wrap my arm, wrist, and hand with an ace bandage before bed, also I could only sleep in certain positions. The dr told me the only cure for it was delivery, well it never went away completely but it wasnt so excruciating. Now with my 2nd pregnancy, I have it again but its not so severe. Also if you find yourself swollen, try and drink lots of water it'll help you not to retain so much fluid so theres not so much pressing on the nerves in your wrist when you lay down. I believe thats why my carpal tunnel isnt so severe this time around. I hope you find relief :)
Thank you ladies!! It's making me crazy it wakes me constantly thru the night.
I haven't gotten it this pregnancy, but my last pregnancy I had to use a wrist brace to help with it, and even then it didn't help 100%, it was terrible!! :(
I have carpal tunnel without being prego so while I was prego it drove me nuts the best thing is heat a heating pad, hot water, a wrist brace and massage does wonders :-) good luck :-)
Wrist guards help if you wear them at night nd even throughout the day if possible
