Ladies Please Read!

My son is 6 days old and we just got done using the hospital supply of diapers and wipes yesterday afternoon. They gave us about 100 Pampers Swaddlers Diapers and about 3 boxes of Pampers Sensitive wipes. Every time we would change our son he would SCREAM! To the point it took both my husband and I to hold him down to change him. We thought his cirucmcision might have just been sore. We started using Luvs diapers yesterday and Huggies Natural Wipes. The last 12 hours of changing diapers have been glorious. He doesn't scream, we are able to wipe all areas of him without problems, and him even fussing. They told us at the hospital not to use wipes on his penis until its healed and last night my husband accidentally touched him with a wipe on his penis and he didn't even fidget, but when we did it at any point last week on accident, he would scream so much!

I feel so bad for not realizing that the diapers and or wipes were bothering him! And I just want ladies to be aware that it could happen. Despite it being the product the hospital gave us was a good product, just doesn't work for everyone!

Yes I totally agree. We LOVE luvs. We haven't tried the Huggies yet but plan on it. The Huggies wipes are awesome though. I just know for next baby I'm bringing my own supply of diapers and wipes to the hospital just incase

Our hospital gave Huggies for my daughter (2011) but I had a thing for Luvs so that's all I used. But once she got into 4s the Luvs weren't strong enough so I started using Huggies and never had a problem. I've never liked Pampers. I plan on either Huggies or Luvs with this baby as well.

Thanks ladies! Just want everyone to keep it in mind! Esp since I wouldn't have known if we didn't buy a variety of diapers to try with him. I just felt so bad and want other mommies to keep this in mind so that if their newborns are having a problem too then they can assess it!

I am so glad that it is not just me who had this problem. I guess that Pampers wipes have alcohol in them and the Huggies Naturals that we switched to do not. I bought a variety of diapers and wipes to try and saved all my reciepts but noticed that Pampers are very expensive, so I didn't buy more than one package. As soon as I can go into town again I am returning them. We did buy a bunch of Pampers Sensitive Wipes for him, and we plan on trying them again when he is older. (If you look in my stockpile journal you will see the variety of diapers and wipes we bought!)

I just wanted to make other mommies aware of this, because both my husband and I just thought it was his little circumcision that was bothering him, not something like a diaper and or wipe!

Thats why i use cloth diapers they work great and you dont have to keep buying them plus no chemicals from the pampaers. Thanks for the info it was helpful

Alexx1216, i wiuld stick to onw if theh dont have any problems. Just knkw that it can change all of the sudden.

And i am hoping target brand is okay for my little girl cause they are cheaper and my sister says they hold alot. I also she isnt sensetive to the wipes... :/

So should I try different brands? Or stick to one until I notice a problem?

Omg, thats great of you to tell us that. I would have never guessed. I guess it's a good thing I have like 4 different brands of diapers so hopefully I'll have an idea of which one is better than the others.

My girls were sensitive to diapers. I could only use pampers (swaddlers or cruisers)or huggies (snugglers or little movers) and huggies or pampers wipes. Not every baby is the same and for some reason New parents hardly ever think about the diapers causing the rash or irritation... I like this post and hope new mother's remember this when they are battling a rash that just won't go away... good luck with your baby..
