Laxative before labor.

Have any of you ladies taken a laxative before labor if so did it work (not pooping during delivery),what time, and what brand?

I had with my first born to bring on Labour as I was 9days overdue..and I will never ever do it again haha .... I don't know if it was from that or not but my Labour was four days! Not so funny at the time ,

I never pooped during delivery, u can kinda control it if you keep it in mind. I kept telling myself not to and I would hold back my push for a minute if I felt like I might and It didn't happen...but don't worry if it does nobody's gonna care it happens all the time, I mean that's alot of pressure down there

Don't bother with the laxative.  You'll just make things harder for yourself. Believe me, when the time comes to push your baby out the last thing on your mind will be 'omg I just sh*t myself' there is a reason they tell you not to eat while you are in labor,  and they exactly why. Plus, you'll never know how long you'll be in labor. You don't want to end up in a situation where you are trying to recover from delivery but you have to keep getting up to run to the bathroom. And if you have an epidural you can't get out of bed so while the laxative is still in effect you'll be pooping there anyways. There's no need to be embarrassed by it, the doctors and nurses have literally seen everything there is to see.
