Maternity Leave

Hi just wondering if any of you could help me. I know this is prob not the right place to be asking this, iv worked in the same place for the last 6 years and last month the place closed unexpectidly, we were'nt given any warning or notice. Turns out the owner owed alot of people alot of money, he is uncontactable and no one knows where he is. Just wondering if i would still be entitled to my maternity leave, i would have been due to take it the end of april as im due 5th may. Its been so hard since i lost my job, i dont know what to do.

Apply for unemployment, one ur doctor sign says u can no longer work or look for a job at 36 weeks...unemployment will tell u to apply for disability for thoses 4 weeks u cant look for a job..theirs also a progam..that u can apply after having bby so u can stay home 6 extra weeks with pay!!! After that u can reapply for unemployment :) exactly wat I did

Yea you could try unemployment, I don't think you'd get maternity leave/pay since the business basically doesn't exist anymore. But you may not qualify for unemployment since you're pregnant and won't be able to work at delivery time.

Try filing for unemployment! You might be able to get it because of the circumstances.
