Milk Production

Its been a little over a month since I had my first daughter. After 4-5 days of having her she rejected feeding from my breasts and 6-8 days she rejected my milk completely. I just recently found out that the reason why is that she is lactose intolerant. Well I'm still producing milk and I am now completely engorged. I have tried the "No More Milk"tea from Earth Mama <3 Angel Baby, I've done the cabbage trick, warm showers, tight bras, everything. Nothing seems to be working. What can I do?

I agree with LovilyLady.  If she's lactose intolerant then it's the cows milk and other dairy products YOU are eating.   Before you give up on breastfeeding and stop lactating I would speak with a lactation consultant.

I have they put her on infimal infant formula and she became lethargic. She wouldn't eat  or make a sound and kept spitting up. So my dr. changed her formula again to the Gentalease. She completely stopped eating for 2 days and spit up everything I gave her. I even tried giving her only an ounce and tried waiting 15 mins to see what would happen but it didnt even take 5 before she was spitting it all up plus more. MY dr. then again changed her formula and suggested the Prosobee which is soy based and thats working a lot better.  I do want to feed her and Im gonna talk to my dr again at her next month apt and see if I can just put less then an ounce of my milk in her bottle with the new formula to see it that will work.  Thank you! (:

If you stop drinking milk there's a chance she could feed again. Since its probably not your milk she is allergic to its cow milk. Did your doctor talk to you about this at all. I know when i was an infant I would not breast feed at all after day 3 of being alive, and they later found out i was severely lactose intolerant. Also my friend had a two children who was lactose intolerant when they were nursing, her doctor told her to stop drinking milk and eating dairy products and her children nursed just fine.

You might want to ask your doctor about that if you are still interested, i dont really have any more information about stopping breast production, my friend stopped nursing her son around 7 months ago and she STILL produces come milk!!!
