Miscarriage Again....

So, Yet again this is an all too familiar subject for me.  I am having another miscarriage.  I have been bleeding since Thursday of last week and it was brown blood more than red and never experienced any pain until today.  This morning when I woke up I knew something wasn't right.  So, I got to work and the pains started...at first I thought they were gas, but throughout the day they got worse.  So, I go to the bathroom at 11:30 and there is a clot and have been bleeding ever since.  It's not that much bleeding (tmi) but only when I use the bathroom.  The last time I went to the bathroom there looked to be a water bubble on the tissue when I wiped.  Im not sure what this is but my doctor said not to keep it b/c it wouldn't help he would need the fetus/embryo to figure out what was wrong.  So, here is to trying again...I feel guilty for ttc and feeling like it's gonna end in miscarriage...I feel like I'm just creating a life to throw it away...I'm not trying to sound harsh but I feel like I shouldn't ttc if I know that it is going to end in miscarriage, but yet I try anyway.  UGH..just stressed tired and ready for who knows what.

I don't think anyone really could take your ranting the wrong way, there are so many parents out there like that...I mean if you have to "deal" with your child, or "handle" them, or you get "tired of them" after one day...yeah...you maybe shouldn't have spread your legs/gone in without a condom...people should have to get interviews to be able to have kids, one per kid. That would solve a lot of issues I think...well, maybe it would.

please no one take that last comment the wrong way...I'm talking about parents who have kids just to get back at someone (they don't need them)

smjmekg- ME TOO!  It's hard going thru this time and time again.  You forget the pain until it comes back.  I look at the babies here (at the child care center) and I get sick to my stomach.  There is a parent who brings their children in at 6:30 and picks them up at 6:00 or 5 after 6.  Ugh..then wants to complain and verbally admitted to us that she doesn't want to deal with them that's why she brings them in and leaves them so long.  Then she wants to tell me oh be glad you dont' have kids blah blah blah...UGH I HATE parents who won't take responsibility and love their kids.  Then I have a new kid his mom is outta town and his dad said yesterday (after 1 full day of having him) I'm tired I'm ready for her to come home...I've had enough of this.  Why in the world did you have kids?

Okay sorry that was my rant...it's just bugging me that people who want and deserve can't get them and ones who either a) don't need them or b) don't want them GET THEM ALL THE TIME....ugh...

mylittlegirls- Thank you so much for telling me abou this....I'm researching on this and it sounds like a lot of stuff I am having.  I will ask the docs about this tomorrow.

Everyone thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers...you truely don't know how much it means to have a support system that is other than your family.  My family worries A LOT!  It is comforting to know that you all are concerned however not pushy like family can be.

The good news is you are able to get pregnant-That is what my doctor told me after having 2 miscarriages. The 3rd time I got pregnant I started taking a progesterone suppository the day I found out I was pregnent and continued that for the first 12 weeks. I now have a 10 month old daughter and am 18 weeks pregnant with my second-That one detail has made all the difference in the world-I too changed doctors after my second miscarriage because the first one was not giving me the information that I needed. Keep positive and good luck!

I am so sorry you are going thru this... I can understand the pain, But please be strong , I had 2 miscarriages myself and the 2nd time it was a missed abortion there was not heart beat, so my OB suggested that I should get a D&C and send the sample for genetic analysis, that's when they found out the baby had genetic disorder and stopped growing, we went back to the OB and she said both my husband and I should get karyotyped and low and behold my husband came back positive for balanced trans location, though that will not cause him any health issues, the embryo if they are formed with unbalanced sperm I will miscarry, so that told us the cause for our miscarriages and we met a genetic counsler who told us that we have 1 in 4 chances of having a healthy baby... or it will end in MC, we are trying and praying that we get our chance. So I strongly recommend that you get your hormones and karyo typing done to get some answers, even though I was devastated when we found out, it some how gave me hope that one day it will happen and I just need to be prepared for the MC and not dicouraged, answers always help us plan and give us a reason to continue....so please don't lose hope be strong and work towards figuring out the cause... I will be praying for you...

I know what you are going through and I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've had four miscarriages myself. I have had two live births though. My oldest daughter who is now four was a twin to begin with. I lost the other one early on. They then did a bunch of blood work and fount that I have something called antiphospholipid syndrome. I would suggest you be tested for that if you haven't yet. With this disorder I would lose my babies all before 9 weeks and they would stop developing around 6 weeks. Now when I find out I'm pregnant i just have to take a baby asprin every day and take a lovenox shot every day. I'm now expecting my third. So talk to your doc about this. It sounds just like what I went through for so long

I'm gonna call around as soon as I check with insurance.  I still have to go tomorrow for a physical.  It's bad when you love the nurses more than the doctors.  The nurses have been amazing to me there.

The other doctors I use to have put me on progesterone immediately when they checked the levels.  They said that I would continue to be on it until the placenta took over completely.  Unfortunally they perscribed me all I needed to get through those 14 weeks or so and they expired in June so I threw them away when we moved.

I don't think it's just progesterone that's causing me to miscarry.  I was on the progesterone last time I was pregnant and still miscarried.  So, I'm just waiting for the approval from insurance.

I cannot imagine what you are going through.

I took progesterone the first trimester. It's a simple test and prescription. I took Crinone for about 8 weeks then Prometrium for 4 weeks. I hope they can help you with that. It frustrates me that low progesterone could be the issue and yet the docs have let you suffer through multiple miscarriages.

Do look into other doctors...

Joy- They have not gotten the tissue so they can't test it.  When I had the D&C done last year they did not have enough to test of the tissue.  These doctors I am seeing now are the original OB doctors, until I got pregnant last time I switched to Dr. Pigg and Dr. Gibson.  They left town becaues of the way the hospital here was.  Our hospital is HORRIBLE.  They were gonna send me home with me still bleeding and clotting and tell me I passed everything the ultrasound was clear.  When I saw the ultrasound and there was a baby still there.  So when I got pregnant this time I was very upset I didn't get to go to them.  So, I said I would try this place one more time.  I'm thinking about seeing if my insurance will cover a doc about an hour from here.  There really are not any good OBs here.  We have 4 at one practice and 2 others at different practices.  I go to the one that has 4 and One of the other two delivered my friends baby breech and I haven't heard good stories about and the other one told me when I needed to go to the ER for a D&C last time that I should stay home and deal with the pain.  So, I really don't like any of them.  I couldn't get into the doctors office fast enough for progesterone.  I told them and they said the earliest they could see me was the 7th of September.  I do have low progesterone.  I feel like Dr. P and Dr. G were the only ones who cared...and they tried to solve the problem.  No other doctor here cares.  As for baby aspirin I'm already taking those.  They told me my blood was too thick.

very sorry to hear this is happening to you again -  it is such a horrible thing to go through and to have had four must be utterly heartbreaking.  I agree with what others have said - much can be done once they find out why this is happening.  Make sure you ask your doc lots of questions when you go next time, so that you have an action plan from the moment you ttc.  They should be able to monitor you from the very begining and work out what is happening.  I have always thought that once a women has three mc in a row they begin investigations and intervention - so sorry and you are in my thoughts.

I am so sorry this is happening again.. I would look into getting a different doctor, someone who cares more to get you in as soon as you find out your pregnant, so maybe they can get you on progestrone.
I also agree with one of the other ladies about requesting to be checked for Factor V5.. I read a book about a lady who had continual miscarriages around 6-8 weeks and finally when she got a new doctor they tested her for it and she was able to carry her baby to full term. IDK Just a suggestion!

Your in my prayers tonight and God Bless

Do you trust your doctor after having experienced four miscarriages and not being able to get in fast enough to get levels checked? And the fact they wouldn't test any tissue samples you had to see *why* this is happening? Or do you think you'll find someone else? It sounds to me like there is something going on but that does not mean you need to give up hope of someday having a child. If you have a blood clotting disorder taking a baby aspirin everyday can prevent miscarriage. If you have progesterone issues taking progesterone can help. And there are probably other various things that can be dealt with.

Anyway you are in my heart tonight. I'm so so so sorry you're going through this again!

So sorry to here that you are experiencing this. Could i suggest that you speak to your doctor about blood clotting disorders. Factor V (5) is just one that can cause clots in the umbilical cord. The time frame of your miscarriages would fit something like this.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you and your future children.

I came home about 2pm est.  They didn't want me to be by myself...and DH got home about 10 mins after I did.

Joy- I've had 4 now.  I haven't had a full term pregnancy..I have lost them all around 6 weeks and the miscarriage before this one I carried for 9 weeks but no heart beat at 6 1/2 weeks also stopped growing.  I was not on progesterone this pregnancy.  I couldn't get into a doctor fast enough.

How many have you had? Have you ever had a full-term pregnancy? Were you taking anything this pregnancy (progesterone supplements, for example)?

I am SO SO SO sorry!

I'm so sorry this is happening again. Try setting up another appointment and having the drs run tests to see why it's happening and if it's preventable, or what you need to do. *HUGS* Your day will come.

I'm so sorry this is happening. Have they checked all your levels to make sure it's not one of those causing the problems? (like your progesterone and everything) I hope they can figure out the reason this keeps happening to you, and you get your baby.
