Morphine

With my 1st born I got an epidural and I was looking into different pain relief options for this pregnancy. Any of you got morphine instead of an epidural and how was your experience?

They gave me morphine when I went into preterm labour on monday and it was awful. It made me really dopey and spaced out and I could still feel the contractions but obviously not as painful. The dr said next time I can ask for a half dose if I'd prefer not to be so out of it.

I had morphine with my first for a severe migraine and found out I may be allergic to it. It caused me to get a burning feeling in my arm and didn't do a thing for any of my pain...

With my first I got an epidural it hurt so bad getting it that I thought I wouldn't ever get another well with my second I wasn't going to get it so I did the pain med which helped me sleep but as soon as I had a contraction I was instantly awake crying it hurt so bad I asked for the epidural but it was to late so I couldn't get it I had her without one this time I would like to wait and see if I can do it without one again but if it's anything like last time I will end up with it lol
