You do not need to do "air bicycling" after sex whatsoever.

Ovulation does not happen 14 days after your period; it happens 14 days BEFORE your period. This is a common misconception that causes people a lot of grief and heartache when TTC because women with longer or shorter cycles miss the egg (there's only about a 24 hour period a woman can get pregnant each cycle).

I personally do not trust OPKs (ovulation predictor kits) as they don't work for everyone and can get costly. Instead you can use other methods of determining ovulation, such as observing changes in cervical mucous.

When you are about to ovulate you will notice a discharge when you wipe after using the restroom. It will begin to resemble raw egg whites. That is when you need to have sex. That mucous also helps keep the sperm alive longer.

It can take 6-12 months for you to conceive. Don't give yourself a deadline or you'll just stress yourself out! Good luck and ask any questions.

I would really try to avoid having a date by which you want to be pregnant.  I tried this when DH and I first started ttc.  I'm a teacher, and I wanted to time my pregnancy so that I would be due April or May, so that I could take the rest of the school year off and then have the summer.  Needless to say, that didnt' work.  Its still hard getting a BFN each month, but I think it was harder then because I was trying to fit God and nature's plan in with my schedule...which doesn't always happen.  It just ended up causing a lot more stress for me, since I felt like I had "failed" at my plan, and probably impacted my ttc.

Not everyone ovulates 14 days after the start of you period. This is for a normal cycle of 28 days. How long is your cycle? I reccomend buying some ovulation kits and also maybe charting ur temperature, although this should be started on the first day of ur next period. When ur temperature goes up a lot (well not a lot but significantly) then this is a good indicator of ovulation. They will tell u in the kits when to start testing for ovulation... Good luck!!!

it's quite normal for it to take upto a year to conceive. give it time, it'll happen. calculating ovulation time isn't always accurate. there are two ways to be sure of not missing your ovulation. first is to use ovulation kits from the drug store that will tell you when you're ovulating, test around the times you think you may be. second is to have sex every 3 days. good luck.
