Going back to work after being off for a month....

Any advice? I work night shift and i lift heavy things all night...  Im trying to think of ways to reduce the amount of effort I give in lifting and in my job period.. I don't want to get light headed like I did before... I have to work for at least 2 more months to be eligible for my maternity leave... i need advice on how to get through it

I agree just try to do your best, with the least amount of strain you can manage!  You may not be able to qualify for unemployment, but have you tried checking to see if you are not able to continue in your job if you can get temporary disability for the next 2 months?  Just a suggestion!  Take it easy

That doesn't seem fair....I'm sorry you're going through this. Have the Dr write you a note stating the weight limit you can pick up. Go to work everyday, ontime and refuse to lift anything heavier than that. Maybe if they let you go because of your restrictions, you can claim unemployment...I don't know if that will work, but if you don't have any other options.

Well, I guess you can and should just do your BEST. Do what you know your body can do with out over doing yourself.... and that should be good, but if they dont like it, they may or may not fire you.......

I tried that.. and they said they didnt have a position for me with that restriction ( they can legally do that) and that I would have to go on extended leave with no benefits because im not full time and I cant get unemployment b/c technically Im still employed.. I still gave them the doctors note and the manager said he would give me breaks here and there about lifting but even so its still very demanding

That's a tuff one, but it sounds like lighter work duty is the only option. Unless they have a pencil pushing position they can put you in until your maternity.

can you have your doctor put you on a weight restriction?  That way you will be able to keep your job, but they can't fire you due to a medical reason!
